We were lucky to catch up with Kaitlin French recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kaitlin, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome as a female entrepreneur and influencer can be a challenging task, but it’s definitely possible. Here are a few strategies that might help:
1. Recognize your achievements: Take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments. Reflect on the progress you’ve made, the skills you’ve developed, and the impact you’ve had on others. This can help build your confidence and remind you of your worth.
2. Embrace vulnerability: Share your experiences and challenges with others, both online and offline. By opening up about your journey, you’ll likely find that many people can relate to your feelings of self-doubt. This can create connections and support networks that can help you overcome imposter syndrome.
3. Surround yourself with a supportive community: Seek out mentors, peers, and like-minded individuals who can provide guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback. Having a supportive network can help you gain perspective and remind you that you’re not alone in your struggles.
4. Challenge negative self-talk: Imposter syndrome often stems from negative self-talk and self-doubt. Whenever you catch yourself thinking negatively, try to reframe those thoughts into positive and realistic ones. Remember, you’ve achieved what you have for a reason, and you deserve to be where you are.
5. Set realistic goals: Break down your long-term goals into smaller, achievable milestones. By focusing on these smaller wins, you can build confidence and prove to yourself that you’re capable of success. Celebrate each milestone along the way to reinforce your self-belief.
6. Practice self-care: Take care of yourself both mentally and physically. Engage in activities that help you relax, recharge, and maintain a healthy balance in your life. This can include exercise, meditation, spending time with loved ones, or pursuing hobbies that bring you joy.
Remember, imposter syndrome is something that many successful individuals experience, regardless of gender. By implementing these strategies and being kind to yourself, you can overcome it and continue to thrive as an entrepreneur and business owner
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a multi-talented artist who is much more than just a rapper. Hailing from Brooklyn, N.Y.C., i recently made Atlanta, GA, her home. With my versatile skills and diverse interests, I’ve established myself as a model, actor, reality T.V. star, business owner, and social media influencer. My multifaceted presence allows me to connect with fans on various platforms and provides a glimpse into my dynamic personality and spirit
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Adaptability, persistence and hard work, these are the keys to success in small business, but they are three important attributes no matter what your endeavor.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
