Meet Joshua Calhoun

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joshua Calhoun a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Joshua, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome creeps up like a dark shadow. I cope with it a few ways, whenever I second guess myself and my talent, I always think about the distance I’ve came from and the personal triumphs I’ve achieved. I look at myself in the mirror and speak positive energy in existence. Once I take all those things in it proves that I’m deserving of my blessings. The right song as well will do it to in my opinion.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a choreographer & dancer. I have my a choreography brand labeled: PRiMEOGRAPHY and through that I provide choreography & creative services. I’ve work with high school teams, collegiate teams, community based organizations, fraternities, sororities, as well as several artist. I have 3 visual dropping this fall the first one coming in October.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1.) Consistency is key. 2.) Being resilient is important
3.) Hard times don’t last.

Advice: Always show up for yourself, on days you don’t feel or think you can’t just know you can all you have to do is show up. People will quit on you but you can NEVER give up on yourself.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth has been my consistency. Towards the end of 2022 I have been sole focused on consistency with my goals, boundaries, and health.
