Meet Skyler Bible

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Skyler Bible. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Skyler below.

Hi Skyler , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Take the space. Use it for you. Working in this industry of film and tv brings about a schedule that has very high highs and very low lows. And in the interim time, doing things that allow for peace, and resetting, and calm, and separating from the hustle/grind mindset is absolutely crucial. And has changed my mindset as well as my character for the better.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actor/film maker sometimes stuntman in this crazy film/tv industry. Started down the acting path 11 years ago, that has definitely wavered from time to time. But I’ve, with help from family and friends, been able to stick with it to the point where it does pay the bills now, and I am so so grateful.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Find your pod. Your pack. Your group of people, whether or not they are in the same industry you are in, having a support group that you are in contact with pretty much everyday helps exponentially. Tenacity I have found, can be seen, and is respected, it takes some more will power than most, but having that oomph will be recognized. Joy, joy in what you do everyday, even if it sucks; you’re in traffic, yeah but its a nice day out, roll the window down blast the music, it’s not the best day at work, but there’s your favorite sandwich waiting for you at lunch, finding things that are little snacks for your soul, I think, at least for myself has helped me become a better, more successful, and all in all at peace human.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Let it go. Trying to control anything other than the steering wheel of your vehicle usually doesn’t go well. It will always work out, and if you invite a calmness into your life, strangely the problems stop being such an obstacle and are much more manageable.
