In a recent captivating voyage, Richie Schwab, known by his dj alias, Akuarium, embarked on an exhilarating international journey to Colombia. Within the heart of this culturally rich nation, he engaged himself in the tapestry of Colombian traditions, where the dynamic pulse of Neiva Fashion Week, thoughtfully curated by Jennifer Cruz, ignited his charming spirit.
During his performances, Richie became entranced by the dynamic interplay of tradition and modernity that defines Colombian fashion. This fusion generated a unique essence that deeply resonated with Richie’s artistic sensibilities. He delivered three exceptional eight-hour DJ sets, each a masterpiece in its own right.
These extravagant fashion shows showcased the nation’s top models, with every move meticulously choreographed to perfection. Richie’s mastery of curation, drawing from an extensive and diverse array of musical genres, seamlessly blended together, mirrored the precision of an orchestra conductor.
The standout tracks in his set was “B.U.T.R., Pt. II” from Jordan Bolch’s “Worldwide Remixes EP.” During one of the shows, the music video featuring Jordan Bolch and Jessica Brown added an extra layer of visual allure, enhancing the overall experience of the performance.
Richie’s time in Colombia offered him a rare chance to connect with the local community on a wholehearted level. Collaborating closely with designers, influencers, models, and artists, he tapped into their endless well of ideas. This experience not only heightened his appreciation for their artistic skills but also infused his own euphoric pursuits with fresh layers of inspiration. A standout moment during his journey was when, at one of his shows at Casa Crystal, he received a thoughtful gift – a custom-designed jacket by José Barrero, flown in from Cali, Colombia, specially for his performance.
Richie thrives on the excitement of embracing uncharted experiences, and his Colombian adventure stands as a testament to this devoted philosophy. During his sojourn in Colombia, a serendipitous encounter with Lucilly Bon, Miss America INTL 23, sparked a transformation. Richie, Lucilly, and Lucilly’s manager, Nena Gal, embarked on a remarkable expedition to Desierto De La Tatacoa, an awe-inspiring desert landscape that served as the backdrop for an unforgettable photoshoot. Richie, adorned in Miicongenteel’s new sweatsuit and sunglass line, showcased the force of designer Micole Love’s vibrant brand in the scorching sun.
The interplay of light and shadow, the tactile richness of the terrain, and the raw, unbridled beauty of the desert stirred Richie’s artistic sensibilities. This encounter became a wellspring of motivation, immersing him in an entirely unfamiliar territory, far removed from his customary surroundings. In the heart of Desierto De La Tatacoa, Richie’s sensations soared to amazing heights. The desert’s kaleidoscope of colors, intricate shapes, and palpable energy seeped into his soul, infusing new life into his journey for exploration. The collaborative synergy with Lucilly and the backdrop of Colombia’s natural splendor left indelible memories etched in his heart.
This unforgettable journey underscored Richie’s passionate belief that innovation flourishes when one steps beyond their comfort zone and plunges into the uncharted depths of the unknown. His Colombian endeavors epitomized the enchantment of allowing the world to be a vast canvas, where every new experience becomes a brushstroke of inspiration on the canvas of one’s imagination.
