Meet Zoe Nazarian

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zoe Nazarian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Zoe, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I believe that growing up in the entertainment industry has greatly affected my confidence and self-esteem. I have been faced with tons of rejection when it came to auditioning for dream roles and working with huge companies that I’ve dreamed of working with. I had to learn very quickly how to deal with it. A lot of getting through this rejection had to come from within. In a sense, I was almost forced to become more confident on my own. I’m grateful that I was able to push myself towards being more outwardly confident in all aspects of life. Obviously, everybody has low confidence days, but I try to stay positive in terms of self-talk and how I view myself.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As an actor and content creator, I thrive on being creative. I love to bring characters to life by stepping into their shoes and reacting to things just as I believe they would. I love to be on set as well, and has always taken an interest in the production process. With that, acting has also allowed me to express myself and grow as a person.

But my creative journey doesn’t stop there. I also dive into the digital world as a social media content creator, teaming up with various brands that I have loved and used for years. I have a passion for creating and greatly understand the importance of brand identity and visibility. I create content revolving around topics such as lifestyle, beauty, and travel.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I owe a lot of my journey’s success to three things: grit, creativity, and adaptability.

First, let’s talk about grit and determination. I’ve faced my fair share of rejection and didn’t quite fit into the industry mold, but that just pushed me to take charge of my path. I started posting videos online and that tenacity helped me power through challenges and continue moving ahead.

Next there’s creativity and self-expression. Crafting videos on confidence, comedy, and lifestyle topics allowed me to connect with my audience on a real level. I was able to share products, stories, and video topics that I felt passionate about, and still do to this day.

Lastly, adaptability and always being open to learning new things have been key. Going from making online content to pursuing an acting career during a global pandemic was a wild ride. However, I proved to myself that I could adapt, and all the time I put into getting better at what I do showed me how committed I am to doing what I love.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have spent a lot of time trying to find ways to cope with the feelings that come with it. I often get overwhelmed when it comes to starting something new or when I have too much on my plate. Honestly sometimes all I need is a good cry and to allow myself to go through the emotions of feeling overwhelmed. Once I do that, I often try to find the root of the problem and take a step back from the thing that is overwhelming me to give myself time to think. Sometimes stepping away and coming back with a fresh mind is all you need to move forward and push through.
