Britney, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
The death of my father hit me really hard. But it wasn’t until over a year after he passed that I viewed life so differently. There were so many people in attendance at his funeral. As they lined up to give me hugs and comfort me with such kind words, what I vividly remember most is that they all said the same thing about him: He was such a genuine, kind man and that they were really going to miss him. Reflecting on the life my dad lived and his faith in God, it really made me reflect on my own life. Aside from his death reminding me of how short life can be, it made me want to find my purpose and reflect on how I want people to remember me.
That was a major turning point in my life. I began to focus more on myself and find my purpose in life. His death birthed the start of my business and helped me realize my purpose is to serve in any capacity that God allows.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I do everything brows and lashes, which includes microblading, microshading, brow threading, brow tinting and lash extensions. I cater specifically to women who want to enhance their look, but still keep it natural. I also teach classes to women who want to learn these skills to start their own business.
I recently finished school to become an esthetician so I have added facials to my list of services. My facials cater to both women and men because men need self care too!
What’s most exciting about what I do is how I get to meet so many different people, whether it’s my personal clients or students who I teach, and provide them with a relaxing environment where I promote self care, self love and uplift and motivate them.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Consistency, Discipline and Belief in myself were 3 important qualities that helped me in my journey of becoming a business owner. When you start anything new, you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe that you really can do it! Even if you don’t know how you’re going to get to the end goal, you must have confidence that you can achieve whatever the goal is that you want to accomplish with the help of God. Consistency is also so important. The more consistent you are, the closer you will be to reaching your goal. Consistency requires discipline. Discipline will help you stay consistent, especially on the hard days. There will always be hard days throughout the journey; however, discipline will help you push through those times.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest area of growth in the last 12 months has been realizing my worth and knowing that I am enough. There are plenty of women in this industry that do what I do, but they simply are not me. I am unique and there is no one out there like me that can do what I do. I have dedicated time to really work on my inner self and it has helped me tremendously both personally and professionally. The inner work I have done has helped me attract my ideal clients that respect me, my time and also recognize my worth and I am so grateful for them!
