Meet Erica Smith

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erica Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Erica, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I received my resiliency from my father, Theodore Smith. He recently passed on October 30, 2022. And as his only child, he instilled many life lessons in me that I carry daily. His faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, pushes me through the difficulties of life. I believe that everything that we go through is a lesson to make us stronger and better! I have experienced a lot of disappointments in life especially with being an entrepreneur but I wouldn’t trade them in for the world.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Erica Smith a fresh, vibrant make-up artist from Kansas City, Missouri, that currently resides in Dallas, Texas. Erica has countless years of experience in the beauty and fashion industry. Obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Apparel/Textile Marketing and Design at the prestigious Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. And working in management/make-up artistry for one of the worlds leading cosmetics brands, Erica has gained the knowledge of precision and skill that can be transformed from street to runway. Erica’s artistry has been seen in fashion shows, weddings, photo shoots, pageants, magazines, television appearances, promotional/marketing materials, etc. Erica is on the cutting edge of the beauty industry and is ready to transform you into the beauty goddess of your dreams.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe that my top three best qualities are my vibrancy, positive outlook on life and ability to connect anyone that I encounter. This is what sets me apart from my competitors in the beauty industry. Every person that I met always compliment me on my magnificent energy and I believe that is due to the fact that I look for the good in every person. Drawing on my light and reflecting that energy back to that person. Having this internal quality is beneficial in owning your own business.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
My favorite book is The Holy Bible. It continually on The New York Best Sellers List! Because it contains the living word that is adaptable to every life experience in the past, present and future. As a believer of Jesus Christ, my faith is deeply root in applying Biblical principles to my life’s journey. There is not one topic on the planet that I can’t tie back to some Bible verse or parable. When I am stressed I have go to bible verses that keep me pushing forward.
