Meet Eliasim Orellana

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful GoatGodByDesign. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with GoatGod below.

GoatGod, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I think that my resilience comes from knowing that everything is a process and that things take time. I never measure anything worth doing in days or months. I think once or twice a year I really take a step back to measure my progress and to see what kind of changes to make moving forward.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

son of Aurora and Eliasim Orellana, i grew up in poverty and abondance, was raised by a lot of love and loss, destined to be just another Mexicans working another Mexicans job and continue the mediocrity that is being a poor Hispanics in America, during my teens i rebelled as hard as i could knowing that i wanted more, much more to the point that i ended up with what society would call the wrong crowd, i rebelled against family, against laws, and against society by committing crimes that till this day i try to repent for. Because of choices I made, I acquired a long criminal record, ultimately I was only eligible for most jobs in Texas that didn’t all lead back to the one thing I was rebelling against. Through sheer luck and a remarkable gift of networking, I came across promoting clubs, which required taking a lot of pictures. It was a great way for my artistic side to flourish. My eye for style and talent for capturing the moment naturally led me to photography.

photography lead me down a path of better understanding and enlightenment by being able to interact with so many people from different walks of life, i never limited my self in what i would shoot, although i did refine what kind of content i shoot, you can definitely say i have developed a colorful art style filled with a lot of deep notes and thought provoking composition, when you see my content i want you to feel like you want to see more, or have more questions, i want you to not just see but rather feel the enactment in the room, or a connection with a subject,

When it comes to the future of my photography and content, I really want you to ride with me for the long run, I’m always looking for ways to expand my brand beyond, I have merch coming, music mic drops, model videos, and more. I’m just taking my time and enjoying the ride!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. the most impactful advice I ever received was ”if you keep doing something, you will only get better at it” meaning that if you keep focusing on the issues, you will only get better at focusing on issues, but if you spend time trying to find solutions, you will become better at finding solutions. keep Practicing going after things you want, keep practicing taking it a little further, keep practicing trying again, i promise you, you will only get better at those things,

2. make sure you are doing something that you would do even if you didn’t get paid for it, when starting a business there might be a lot of time where you are not making much money if any at all. moments like that can weigh very heavily on people’s emotions. but if you love what you do, it can make those times a little easier, and makes it easier to keep up the quality that satisfies you.

3. keep the right friends, the right friends will be happy about your achievements, will embrace your passion, and push you when you feel like you are slowing down, but also do not expect any involvement from your friends and family in your business, not only is it ok if they do not understand your action, it’s completely normal. like i always say. McDonalds is not making all that money purely from friends and family!
