Meet Yasir Alani

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yasir Alani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Yasir , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Ooof, let me tell you about a world that often tests us. In this life we all have our own level of difficulty, I truly believe god gives us challenges only for us to realize they are merely lessons. “It’s not what happens to you, but how you proceed”.

In my early years I was born in Iraq and sought refuge in Syria with my mom and sister. Where I come from you learn survival skills from a young age. I faced brutal encounters that tested my young spirit. And I want everyone here to just imagine for a second a young boy who experiences physical abuse and torture. I believe we can all agree that it can become deeply traumatic and have long-lasting effects on his confidence and overall well-being throughout his life.

At just 11 years old, I found myself at the mercy of a raging school teacher who didn’t take kindly to my defiance against the ruling regime. His violence left me battered and bruised, but it also ignited a fire within me.

I learned early on that it is almost impossible for dreams to come true in a third world country that is ruled by fear and dictatorship. I used to sit in front of my big old computer screen and watch Hollywood movies and imagine myself living in that scene, whether it was shot in CA, NY or TX. I dreamt of living in the US where dreams can become reality.

At 13, my fear for my family’s safety led me to withhold my expiring residency card from the police. The consequences were swift and severe. Their aggression left me scarred, but it also ingrained in me the importance of protecting those I love at all costs. These experiences, though harrowing, taught me the value of resilience and the power of standing up for what’s right, even in the face of brutal adversity. Life has thrown its fair share of challenges my way, and I’ve learned that it’s in those crucial times that we discover our true strength.

As I got older the fire that was ignited in me only grew stronger and I knew my reality was not my destiny. Why stay in prison when the door is wide open? I wanted peace. I wanted to keep my family safe. I worked tirelessly to find an opportunity that would allow me to start over in the U.S. and build a new future.

After years of uncertainty and living in fear, I was finally granted a visa and made my way to the U.S. This was a pivotal moment in my life. It demanded unwavering confidence in my abilities and a strong belief in my potential. Starting fresh in a new country was both humbling and empowering, reinforcing my determination to create a better life.

Once I felt I was tapped out on being surrounded by violence and hate I wanted to take on a new chapter in life and purse something that would feed and heal my soul.I practiced extreme sports; skydiving, scuba diving, and paragliding. These pursuits pushed me to the limit, both physically and mentally. Overcoming the fear associated with these activities served as constant reminders that I can conquer challenges with determination and courage.

But the real turning point came when I pursued my 11 year old self dream and dove into acting at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Los Angeles. The rigorous training, exposure to industry professionals, and the chance to hone my craft deepened my self-confidence in my potential as an actor. It’s where I found my true passion and purpose, reinforcing my confidence as I work towards my Hollywood aspirations.

Role models like Tom Cruise, Jim Carry, & Denzel Washington whose remarkable careers are marked by dedication and resilience, have been a beacon of inspiration.Their journeys remind me that even the most celebrated individuals faced setbacks and challenges before achieving greatness.Recognizing the humanity in my role models allows me to relate to their struggles and further strengthened my resilience.

My life was no cakewalk, but let me tell you, I learned some serious life lessons. It toughened me up, taught me to adapt, and never waver from my beliefs, or dreams. At the end of it all we all have a choice. We can learn and grow or fall victim. Some individuals rise above their circumstances, demonstrating the indomitable power of the human spirit, and that was the path I chose. My life’s trials have become stepping stones in the evolution of my confidence.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers about yourself and what you’re working on:

Of course; In addition to starting a new life’s journey in the US I immersed myself in adventure and exploration, earning licenses in thrilling pursuits such as skydiving, scuba diving, motorcycle riding, and paragliding. These exhilarating activities not only provided moments of thrill but also served as therapeutic outlets, helping me reclaim a sense of freedom and control over my life.

In addition to these daring adventures, I embarked on extensive travels, exploring diverse cultures, landscapes, and perspectives in multiple countries and states. These journeys broadened my horizons and enriched my life profoundly. This chapter of self-discovery also led me to reconnect with my passions, aspirations, values, and, importantly, my spirituality. This period of introspection and growth instilled in me a renewed sense of purpose and inner peace.

As I pursued my passion for acting at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Los Angeles, I carried with me the significant impact of this spiritual reconnection. My dream extends beyond achieving success in the entertainment industry; it’s about making a positive impact through the stories I tell and the characters I portray. My journey stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and I am excited to share this renewed sense of self and purpose with all of you as I continue to chase my dreams.

Here’s a glimpse into my artistic career and some exciting developments:

Acting Career: I began my formal training in acting At New York Film Academy (NYFA) relatively recently. This intensive program has been an incredible experience, allowing me to immerse myself in the world of acting, learn from industry professionals, and refine my craft. I am deeply passionate about acting and am committed to giving it my all.

What Makes It Exciting: Acting, to me, is a form of storytelling that transcends boundaries and connects people on a deep level. It’s about stepping into different characters, exploring their emotions, and conveying their stories to the audience. What excites me the most is the opportunity to touch people’s lives, evoke emotions, and provoke thought through my performances. It’s a powerful medium that can inspire, challenge, and entertain, and that’s what makes it incredibly special.

Brand and Artistry: While I’m in the early stages of my acting career, I aspire to become a versatile and respected actor in Hollywood. I’m drawn to a wide range of roles, from action to drama. My diverse life experiences have given me a unique perspective that I hope to bring to my characters.

Upcoming Projects: As of now, I’m focused on my training, honing my skills, and preparing for opportunities in the industry. While I don’t have specific projects to announce at this moment, I am dedicated to continuously improving my craft and actively seeking roles in film and television.

Future Ambitions: In the long term, I hope to make a meaningful impact in the world of entertainment. Whether through captivating performances, compelling storytelling, or involvement in projects that shed light on important social issues, I want to contribute positively to the industry and the audience’s experience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks, learn from failures, and keep moving forward is key. Developing resilience often comes through facing challenges head-on, seeking support when needed, and maintaining a positive mindset.

Adaptability: Embracing change, being open to new experiences, and pivoting when necessary are crucial skills. Adaptability is honed by stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing uncertainty.

Unwavering Determination, Hope, and Faith: Regardless of the challenges you encounter, never quit and keep going. Your determination, combined with hope and faith, are often the driving forces that propel you toward your dreams.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I had just a decade left to live, I’d prioritize two essential things: traveling and spending quality time with my family and loved ones, all while making cherished memories. I’d set off on a globe-spanning adventure, exploring diverse cultures and breathtaking landscapes, making every new place a chapter in my final book. But my travels wouldn’t be a solitary journey; I’d want to share these extraordinary experiences with my dear ones. We’d create a rich sense of joy and togetherness, making lasting memories that time cannot erase. Life, to me, is about the connections we make, the places we explore, and the deep memories we create, and I’d savor every precious second of it.
