We recently connected with Adrian Zuniga and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose at a young age when I found out I had the ability to draw cartoons fairly well. I always wanted to draw and bring joy to others with my artwork. Later in life, with the birth of my son around the corner, I started asking myself what did I have to teach my newborn baby. This is when I remembered my passion for cartooning and started drawing cartoons again and rediscovering my purpose.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a cartoonist and love to work on different areas. My main focus lately has been web comics. I like to create comics that I think people will enjoy and to eventually print my own comic book. I also do freelancing and offer my cartooning services to local businesses and assist with any requests they may have. I have created cartoon logos for their business, caricatures and even created characters for them.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The skills that have been the most impactful have been time management, my drive and my financial literacy skills. The time management skills have helped me stay organized and on top of deadlines. It’s extremely important to deliver to clients on time and ahead of schedule if possible. My drive has been crucial for me as it is what keeps me going even in difficult times. Lastly, my financial literacy skills have helped me balance my family life, day job and still have the time and money to pursue my cartooning dreams.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The book that has been most important to me in the last few years has been The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. This book has great wisdom about how to handle finances, getting out of debt, investing and saving 10% of your income. If you ever want to be successful in any sort of business you have to be able to manage your finances.
