We recently connected with Deanne Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Deanne, thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?
My ability to communicate effectively is always a work in progress. I’m never perfect at it but the foundation that was built in me as an educator persists. As a former Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal my roles were communication-heavy. Whether it is electronic, telephonic, or face-to-face, we must communicate and do so effectively.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a home loan matchmaker. Based on a prospective client’s wants and needs, I match them with the home loan that best suits their goals. What is SUPER EXCITING about what I do is I get to help people fire their landlords. Landlords are cool. I might be one in real life….BUT – I get really pumped about helping people to transition from renting to owning and building a legacy of financial wealth.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Confidence. Perseverance. Patience. I once heard someone say “fake it ’til you make it”. While I’m not in the business of faking anything – it IS my belief that confidence in yourself and your abilities will carry you far. Whether you are new in your career or a seasoned veteran, your ability to sell yourself through your confidence level is very important. For those who are making a career change, embarking on a new journey, or taking a solo trip around the world – be confident in you, what you do, and how you do it. That energy will resonate with others and will have a huge impact on your business, hobby, journey, etc…
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Collaboration in any field is key. I am always open to productive collaborations that will yield positive results for all involved. Real Estate Professionals, Divorce Attorneys, Financial Planners, and Home Builders/Developers are all professionals that I would love to connect with and make some magic.
