Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Siranush Arsenian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Siranush, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Luckily, I found my purpose at a very young age when I was a kid and since then, nothing changed and I’m still pursuing my dream and purpose in life. My mom is a musician and she took me to a music school when I was five and since then I started playing piano and singing. I’ve always been into music professionally and when I was a teenager I started writing my songs. Now I can’t imagine my life without music and without even trying to be recognized and get my music out there. It is definitely the most important purpose in my life and I will never give up.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a singer-songwriter and music producer. I make my songs all by myself except for mixing and I find myself the happiest every when I create my music. I moved to the US all alone 4 years ago for my music dream. My dreams and goals are very big and I do my best to achieve as much as I can. Like everyone says, my music is very different. I can’t even explain in what genre I’m writing. It’s a mix of neo-soul, pop, and indie. I truly can’t live without music and it is the only thing that gives me the most satisfaction. I’m working on new projects now and a new song will be out very soon. Follow my Instagram @siranush.ar for more updates.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My music education that now helps me to write music easily. I studied at a music school for 11 years, and it wasn’t just a school for me, I was a professional pianist and sometimes would practice for 9 hours a day for competitions.

Education and hard skills/experience in other fields because it helps me to make a living now because I live alone in LA and when you’re an indie music artist, you need another job in order to live.

Persistence, hard work, and big motivation to wake up everyday to pursue my goals and dreams.

Always study and learn something. You never know how one new skill can help you in life. You need to be flexible and motivated enough if you wanna achieve big things. Believe in yourself and that everything is possible in life!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
They made me the person I am now. I will forever be thankful to my parents for everything I have now. I had the best childhood, the best teachers, the best education. They even allowed me to move to an absolutely different country all alone to pursue my biggest dream. They’ve always believed in me and it helps me to never give up and keep going. They are my biggest motivation to reach my goal and give them the life they deserve because they sacrificed their time and desires in order for their children (my brother and I) to become good people.
