Hi Tasha, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Born and raised in the westside of Atlanta, I was able to learn very quickly the true meaning of the words resilience and determination. I was determined not to let my current situation be my final destination. I lost my father at the age of 4, so I learned quickly to turn my pain into power. Growing up in a single family household, I witnessed true resilience and perseverance in my mother. This taught me strength and how to stand on my own two feet. Despite life”s adversities, I knew I was destined for greatness. My mom would always tell me, “Tasha, never let life’s challenges define you and never look like what you’re going through”. With those words of encouragement I continued to focus on changing the stereotypes that you couldn’t be successful if you came from a single parent household, grew up in the hood, or appearances didn’t meet certain standards. “Who says you can’t have it All” ? I always had a passion for all things beauty. Through growth and life experiences I understood that beauty is in the “Eye”of the beholder. To never fit into a box of someone else’s perception or stereotype of what being beautiful exactly is for you. To be beautiful and own it . My passion, drive, and determination , along with obtained knowledge and education in the beauty industry, I created the company “Tasha Marie Beauty”. I wanted to not only provide products that will keep that focus and would enhance every vision of beauty but represented “ME” and everyone around the world that had to adapt being beautiful as a character trait in your everyday lifestyle to overcome life challenges. I wouldn’t be where I am today with out keeping God first and the consistent support and love of my Mother.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Tasha Marie Beauty offers a variety of beauty products such as hair bundles, hair extensions, lace closures, wigs, mink lashes, and lip shades that will focus on your desired look for any event and occasion which will ultimately enhance your beauty through your everyday lifestyle. In addition, we offer makeup services such as full face, eyebrow fill, and lash application. Beauty is in the “Eye” of the beholder and no one should be defined by any stereotypes of what being beautiful is all about. What sets up apart from others is that we not only focus on beauty products that will enhance the already beautiful you, but bring focus on being beautiful as a character trait in your everyday lifestyle rather in your career, as an on the go mom, or a family member. Only you can define your beauty. What I am most proud of as a company is “the start” Making my dream into my reality. The hardest part is to begin, but new beginnings brings new blessings.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, my journey and road in life was never easy, but the road to success never is. Perseverance, Determination, and Consistency is essential. God didn’t put anything on me that I didn’t overcome . Learning to multitask being a single mom, working a 9-5, and starting a business was at times challenging. Yet, It was in my struggles where I found my strength and resilience. The proudest moment of my career so far is me being a great example for my daughter to look up to and being proof that being successful isn’t just a little girl’s dream. That you can turn your dreams into reality at any age, no matter what life throws. Never Give Up! For those who are early in your start, never compare your journey to someone else’s. Know that each experience rather it’s good or bad is apart of God’s plan to build you for all the blessings that is meant for you. Trust the Process!
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My brother would always tell me, “Tasha , don’t focus on the problems, Let’s Focus on Solutions.” “What’s the Plan?” I learned from him that anything worth overcoming starts with an executed plan. Preparation is Key! The key is to never give up until all your dreams come true! My brother’s advice and essential knowledge and skills has been very influential in helping me build who I am today for a solid and successful business. Having support and faith in me the way I believe in myself and business is a true blessing. What’s even more awesome is he is not only my business advisor but my “My Big Brother” as well.
