My heart is deeply touched by my mother’s incredible journey from Peru to a new country with only $500 and Spanish as her first language. Witnessing her determination to learn English from scratch and overcome the immense challenges faced by people from other countries has made me acutely aware of the hardships they endure in their pursuit of success. It is not an easy path, as they must navigate unfamiliar territories and overcome cultural barriers. However, my mother’s unwavering work ethic and indomitable spirit have shown me that with perseverance and a positive mindset,I can achieve anything their hearts desire. My mother’s unwavering determination and “no excuses” mentality have shaped me into the strong individual I am today. Her exceptional work ethics have been a driving force in my own life. I owe my success and on-point work ethics to her incredible influence and guidance.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In real estate, three skills or qualities that have a significant impact are: 1. Expert Negotiation: Being able to negotiate effectively can make a huge difference in getting the best deals for your clients and maximizing their investment.
2. Exceptional Communication: Strong communication skills are crucial for building relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and effectively conveying information throughout the buying or selling process.
3. Market Knowledge: Having a deep understanding of the local real estate market, including trends, pricing, and inventory, allows you to provide valuable insights and guidance to clients, leading to successful transactions.
Just remember, developing these skills takes time and practice. Stay open to learning from experienced agents and don’t be afraid to ask for guidance along the way.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed as a business owner of a real estate brokerage, I find it helpful to prioritize tasks and break them down into smaller, manageable steps. Delegating responsibilities to trusted team members and seeking support from mentors or fellow business owners can also alleviate some of the pressure. Taking breaks, practicing self-care, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance are crucial for managing stress. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey, and it’s okay to ask for help when needed.
