Meet Amber Beck

We recently connected with Amber Beck and have shared our conversation below.

Amber, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I didn’t have an easy childhood, so my resilience comes from being in survival mode.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a social worker and women’s wellness coach. I help millennial women recover from yo-yo dieting, overcome mental barriers, and lose weight without strenuous exercise.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
•Resilience •Determination
•Discipline

Resilience is built based on experience. You can’t be taught. It’s built from getting up again and again when you don’t think you can do it.

Determination will show up when you find what you are passionate about. Especially in the beginning. You’re excited and optimistic. Your creative juices are flowing and you are so confident in yourself and your abilities. Although determination is important, you can’t achieve anything off of determination alone, That’s like trying to build a house with only a hammer…you need discipline.

Discipline is what keeps you going even when your determination and motivation have started to slow down.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is the millennial woman who feels like she’s in a slump. Someone tired of living in a body that she’s not confident in and is ready to put herself first so that she can live in the body she loves.
