Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fergie Nea. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Fergie , so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?
yes I have, it seems to be a very common thing for us artists, so when that happens what helps me the most is to reconnect with myself and take a break, walk in nature, meditate and find other ways to get inspired. Sometimes the best way to get rid of the creative block is to give me some time to have different experiences , allow myself to feel and completely flow , meet new people, go out to different places, listen to new music, get inspired by other artists, read a good book, travel and relax, that always works for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am singer, songwriter and producer from Mexico. Music has always been my shelter, my friend and lover, my sanity and the only place where I can really be myself.
I love creating and I love the excitement of having a blank page and then see how it becomes something, give life to the sounds I hear in my head and with my voice and lyrics give them a message for everybody to hear.
I am an independent artist and I am the mind and soul behind everything in my project I produce all the sounds in all my songs and I love to fusion genres so my sound is a mix of modern R&B with some elements of Neo Soul, jazz, latin grooves and sophisti-pop.
I am about to release my next EP “light the way” and it is a very exciting project for me because it is the first time I really combine analog and digital sounds and the use of so many vocal layers, and very talented instrumentalist.
The EP will be released at the end of the year and I cant wait to share it with the world.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Definitely resilience, discipline and faith. My advice for any young artists is to believe in yourself , work on yourself, never compare yourself to others, stay grounded and never give up.
Be consistent, one step at the time, keep on walking, keep moving forward.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
This year Ive been healing from inside out, so my growth has been definitely spiritual. It has been a very intense awakening and as I am in this transformation my life has been changing so much.
I find myself in a complete different place from last year, a very different mindset and all of it is also reflecting in my music and my lyrics.
Very positive changes, new people, alignments, a lot of love and also a lot of time by myself in solitude which really helps me stay connected to the creator.
I experienced like a butterfly a beautiful metamorphosis.
