Meet Treasure Martin

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Treasure Martin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Treasure, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
When it comes down to haters, Ive learned to ignore them. People are going to talk regardless, even when you’re doing positive things. Anytime I hear a negative comment about me or what I have going on, it honestly pushes me to go harder!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, Instructor, Supplier and Business Mentor in the Beauty Industry. I’m also a Food Blogger and Designer Dog Breeder. Along with these businesses, I also have different Music Artist that I Manage

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My first skill would be to stay in your own lane. Don’t ever try to compare yourself to what someone else is doing. Their path is not your path. You have to create and build your own flow

The second skill is to build you a solid team and foundation. I am a 6 Figure Entrepreneur, and I can’t say that it’s always easy. With a solid foundation, your daily routines will go way smoother

Last but not least, learn how to invest and manage your money. Getting money is the easy part, but are you putting it back into your business? Or are you blowing it on those new pair of gucci shoes? Don’t get me wrong, I spoil myself every once and a while when I’ve made accomplishments but a large portion of my making is always going back into my businesses

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I always tell people to focus on one thing at a time. Putting all your eggs in one basket, especially starting out is not easy

For example, when I first joined the beauty industry I wanted to try and master everything at once. Lash Extensions, Makeup, Eyebrows, Hair, Piercings, Etc. I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on products and classes. I was always good at each service I provided, but in the end I only focused on one particular service and that was Lash Extensions. Now i’m a Master at it!

Accomplish one goal at a time and move at your own pace. Everybody has a path that was made for them, all you have to do is follow it and let your mind, body and spirit guide you
