Walawala goundee, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
I have learn how to be affecting by just following the fundamental approach cooperation company run by. The experience you can learn from how they operate can definitely lead your goals in effective, and productive path. Also in every successful story , there is always many people that have help put the puzzle together. Seeing the rise of show business in the country such of usa have made become a critical thinker and innovator. With been say being the only one in the room help find ,create much better products or merchandise, it’s also give that since of urgency on your time study .

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is walawala goundee owner and CEO of Wala Grill, I was born in congo Brazzaville located in the central part of Africa which is a French colonization. I left my country in 1997 at age 8 years old due to civil war and became a refugee. I grew around music and cooking my whole life . I can honestly say music and food are my main focus . After realizing how much unity food can bring in a community I decide to devoted myself into cooking , grilling in particular can connect many soul. I have decide to joint Damion hype into the journey of bringing Jamaica to Memphis also incorporating congoless and its cuisine Many of us doesn’t have the privilege or luxurious lifestyle to travel to my country and enjoy congoless gourmet.
I was giving the opportunity to show off my culture and the food of my country.
I have been cooking on the grill for the past 3 years in memphis and one thing I have implemented is the beauty and vibe a grill can bring in gathering or party vibe. It’s start all small the demands are becoming larger,
At this point we are working on the opening of the biggest Jamaican restaurant bar lounge call Jamrack that will cater not only Jamaican food but also african dish on its menu.

we also working on releasing new music ,clothing line ,holistic juice

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Cooking ,construction build up and music, grilling

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I will say my best friend /business partner and my 3 mothers of children
