Meet Eslee Hernandez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eslee Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Eslee, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?

I have often been afraid to take a step; many times in my life, I’ve feared success. Success often comes with hard work and challenges. There was a time when I regretted not taking a certain risk, and that feeling of regret took a significant toll on me. I now wonder, “What would have happened if I had taken that step and risked it?” If I had taken that step back then, I believe I would be in a better place today. Now, every time I’m about to take a risk, I reflect on that decision I didn’t make and simply go for it. Even if I were to fail, I am still at an advantage because I learn from my mistakes.

Opening a new business is a substantial risk. Before I opened my business, many people would say, “You’re not ready” or “It’s too risky.” This made me feel afraid, but I knew I had to take this risk. I wanted to see for myself how it would play out.

Taking risks has helped me build my self-confidence and exercise better judgment. I still analyze possible outcomes and determine whether taking a risk would be more rewarding. Embracing failure is a part of my journey, and I understand that taking risks may lead to failure.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a CEO, I’m committed to advancing my education to the highest level. My passion lies in business, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the learning journey in school while seamlessly integrating my business pursuits. Fashion has always held a significant interest in me. I ventured into styling and designing with the dream of taking my passion to a global level. Vindictive Boutique is a clothing line designed for women though we are working non-stop to bring our brand to men as well. I consider Vindictive exceptionally unique, thanks to the outstanding quality of our products and the potential to set new trends. In my current role as CEO, my primary focus is to expand the presence of Vindictive worldwide. I’m working diligently to build a network and ensure that Vindictive doesn’t remain in the shadows. I’m delighted to share that Vindictive has not only established an online presence but also a physical one in Salt Lake City, UT.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The business landscape is constantly changing. Being adaptable and open to new ideas and technologies is crucial. Stay curious, keep learning, and be willing to change your strategies when needed. Continual learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends are key. Building relationships is also a big one, attending events and using social media to connect to professionals.

Another critical aspect that has been important for me is to “Stay Passionate.” Pursuing something you genuinely love is essential to prevent quitting midway through your journey. Passion is the driving force that keeps you moving forward.

Moreover, having the ability to believe in your dream and in yourself is important. Many entrepreneurs hold themselves back with statements like, “I’m not ready for that step.” Such self-limiting beliefs can keep you trapped in the same place. No matter how challenging the path may seem, continue to strive and work towards your goals. Take risks, have faith in your abilities, and trust that it will lead to success.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
Balancing strengths and weaknesses is a key aspect of personal and professional development. Striving for well-roundedness by addressing areas of weakness is equally important.

Focusing solely on strengths can lead to a skewed skill set and overconfidence. This approach might work well in the short term but can hinder long-term growth. Neglecting weaknesses may limit one’s adaptability and ability to tackle new challenges. I’ve encountered individuals who excelled in their strong suits but struggled when they faced situations requiring skills they hadn’t cultivated.
