We caught up with the brilliant and insightful LaTonia Taylor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LaTonia , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
One of the ways I credit to overcoming imposter syndrome is a process of Religious Recovery and reformation from The Good Girl Syndrome. The Good Girl always attempts to please and perform because she’s been taught to conform and meet all of the measurements of the systems of her culture. In addition to being set free from religious shame, guilt and fear messages, I am reformed “good girl”. I remember the first time I began to study sensuality from a spiritual perspective, not commercialized western one. I did so as a lurker that did not engage on public posts, because I did not want the stigma of being loose attached to those who may see my associations. That’s just one example where external influences restricted my openness. There are many more examples from my own story that created quiet identity crisis like being a “black sheep” too. These identities shape how we define ourselves consciously or unconsciously and make choices and decisions that set the trajectory of our lives. However, my rites of passages through Feminine Centered principles healed me layer by layer of shedding many types of imposter tendencies. Before I began to teach it to others, I stepped into my own authenticity through both shadow work and continuous exploration of enlightenment as my rebirth process, healing and therapy. Feminine Leadership is more than performative, especially in the container of work and career. Feminine Leadership is a sacred call to all truth, especially our own personal and process oriented self-discovery.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
While I am known by many common industry names such as Spiritual Life Coach, Counselor and Minister, however my work is an uncommon one and appeals to the woman on extraordinary journey of her own Rebirth. My greatest joy is supporting women to rebirth themselves through their vision and reinvention of their relationship with love, sex and money. Through my signature program and style, I’ve been able to serve high profile leading ladies through Spiritual Psychology, Metaphysics and Transformational principles that I call Rebirthology. You’ve seen my work on major networks and in the lives of women who have manifested marriage, healed after divorce and integrated their unique human design into business as Spiritual Entrepreneurs.
I am most excited about telling these stories for millions to experience transformation on TV. It is most rewarding to scale the impact of clients willing to present real life scenarios to viewers to feel, heal and deal with their own blind spots and limitations. As a Coach and Producer, I am honored to turn them in to mindset breakthroughs and liberation for individuals to share with their families and community. While TV is rewarding, Rites of Passage Programs for women is the ministry of purpose, pleasure, passion and profits that I KNOW is the core work every woman deserves as a safe space to experience, Unfortunately, this has become foreign to us but it’s very much a critical part of indigenous women’s health.
The SOFT GIRL ERA is a trending topic to capture the mental health desires of women who have fallen into the tough exterior of Boss Chic, but it’s not new. High Profile Women of Influence and financial authority are often the most vulnerable to imposter syndrome and compromised emotional intelligence in all the matters of the heart. What’s new is each woman’s response to a soul level call to be the agent of change for seven generations before her and behind her.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When I take inventory of the main influences that have impacted my own Feminine Leadership, there are a few keys I offer as being ones that unlock and free me. In fact, Joe Dispenza calls it “breaking the habit of being yourself:
Stay Coachable, Teachable and Able to Receive:
One is having A Mentor or Elder for coaching, support and accountability. There are far too many women leading women with absolutely no on-going guidance and checks or balances. This absolutely is dangerous to women led spaces because often The Ego goes unchecked privately, so the correction or cost is public or affects so many others.
Surrendering Control:
Second is having sacred safe spaces to process emotion, be seen or witnessed and to just have FUN and freedom to be myself in all my softness and silliness. Sometimes, that space is as a wife in the safety of my husband’s humor and protection, while other times it’s with my sister friends who believe in doing their work too. Those two spaces are not the same nor should they ever be.
Manage My Expectations:
Third is offering grace to others, while striving for excellence, integrity and impact in all of my deliverables. As an Spiritual Entrepreneur it’s important for me to do business and love from an integrated foundation. The culture of business has been fed by old patriarchal paradigms that may not serve my unique design. So one of the ways I manage my own spirit, values and activity is working my blueprint informed by neuroscience, personality testing and other ancient archetypal systems that help me to know my own blueprint in business and relationships. In other words, there is no one size fits all and that model is no longer working from a wholistic asset approach to purpose and profits.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
There are other women in business, like me, who desire to create a legacy of health and wealth for our families, without sacrificing our feminine ability to receive and be cared for as much as we care for others. I speak with so many high powered and celebrity women who are navigating the journey of success and softness. So, when I think of partnering with other Leading Ladies, as I affectionately call them, I invite and love the partnerships where we share the value the mental health of our family and building thriving collaborative communities. I invite the disruptors with messages that are counter culture and not conforming to the image, followers and “brand identities” that creates performance anxiety. Our daughters need us. Young women in leadership and business crave our authenticity, no longer our representatives. So, any woman with a collaborative spirit and invested in our wholistic feminine economic development are the type of partners I’d love to build panels, town halls and holistic wrap around mental health services and wealth education.
