We were lucky to catch up with Anna Quach recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anna , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose in life is to make meaningful and positive impacts in everything I do and for everyone I am blessed to meet. Events in my life have brought me to where I am today and have given me the opportunity to find the purpose for my business.
My story and purpose started when I was planning my wedding. Since I was planning and designing everything, I realized how much work and careful consideration went into taking care of all the logistics and behind-the-scenes details. It was a very stressful time, and once my wedding was over, I thought of ways I could have made it less stressful. The lessons I learned from my wedding inspired me to help other brides make their wedding planning a bit easier – especially when it came to designing their invitations and stationery – and it became the purpose of my business.
As time passed and I moved on to motherhood, I found other reasons to celebrate and design for different occasions. This gave me another reason to expand my design offerings and to help more people celebrate special milestones.
Life is hard, so planning for special occasions and celebrations should be enjoyed every step of the way. If I can help one person – whether it is to take a load off their event planning, making a special gift for a loved one, or putting a huge smile on their little child’s face – they are helping me fulfill my purpose. I believe that my purpose in life and work is a work in progress, and I can’t wait to see where it brings me next.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a woman-owned, AAPI small business that values quality, impeccable service, and community. My passion lies in assisting couples, families, and businesses and catering to their graphic design and stationery needs for weddings, birthdays, sporting events, branded presentations, and home decor.
My designs are known to accurately reflect my clients’ brand, identity, and vision. What sets my services apart from other companies is my personalized touch. When you work with me, you are working directly with me, and my heart and soul go into curating everything I do for you to ensure that your event is not just special but unique and tailored to your vision.
For me, the true magic of the design process unfolds when it meets the eyes of your loved ones or audience. Witnessing the emotions evoked by the design – excitement, goosebumps, or an overwhelming sense of love – is the essence of why I do what I do. These heartfelt reactions fuel my passion and drive me to continue on this creative journey.
I’m thrilled to announce that my passion for design is leading me to expand my website. Soon, you’ll find an array of new designs thoughtfully curated into collections. Navigating through my website will be a breeze, and personalizing your selections will be effortless. I aspire to offer a comprehensive range of products, ensuring there’s something for every occasion life – all conveniently within reach with just a click.
When you need assistance with your next celebration, rest assured that I’m here for you. I want you to know that you can count on me to have a memorable event to look back on for years to come.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If you had asked me what the three most important qualities needed in my journey five years ago, I would have said hustle, good work ethic, and ambition. However, fast-forward to today and the growth of my business, those qualities have changed completely. My three most important values are mindfulness, optimism, and community.
With growth comes growing pains. I learned that mindfulness is so important when it comes to being aware of your mental state and consciousness of your feelings, thoughts, and physical and mental health. Having a small business has its challenges and you are constantly learning new things, encountering obstacles, and shouldering a lot of responsibility. It’s important to be mindful of taking care of yourself first, or you will not be able to confront any obstacles without a clear head.
Secondly, optimism is something everyone needs and takes a lot of work to maintain on a daily basis. We need to train our minds to be optimistic, learn from difficult situations when faced with setbacks, and try to think of problems as learning opportunities. Without optimism, you may give up even before you give yourself the chance to succeed.
Third, learning about the importance of community has impacted me the most. To be honest, community was not even on my list when I started my business. I was focused on getting everything done myself and working hard on my own. I could not have been more wrong. When you have a community, you can share your trials and tribulations with like-minded people in the same situation. You can learn from them, help each other, and develop long-term solutions based on experience. My community of collaborators has helped me personally and professionally, and I’ve been blessed with gaining life-long friends and colleagues.
Every person venturing out to start their own business will make mistakes. It’s the mistakes that make you resilient, stronger, and wiser. My advice to everyone is to embrace the journey and be proud of yourself for taking a risk and jumping into something you are passionate about.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The number one challenge I am facing is the rapid changes in trends. I seek to be on top of them, but I also aim to create timeless designs. Nonetheless, with AI technology, there is a whole new world that everyone is exploring. It is great and exciting, but it doesn’t speak to the emotions and sentiments of my clients. I believe that still having that one-on-one contact with someone is so important, especially now, as we rely more and more on technology. Connections are healthy and allow us to thrive. I hope my services and designs will continue to be essential and offer value, sentiment, and inspiration to my clients.
