Meet Marsha PETNICK

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marsha PETNICK. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marsha below.

Marsha, so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?
I owned my own business, A furniture store with my brother for over 40 years. That brought a ton of stress for many reasons. I always tried to work out to relieve some of that stress but at some point something clicked. I felt like I had to put myself and my mental health first. The time I spent at the gym was non-negotiable. It became a must for me and I loved it. I saw gains at the gym and I was accountable for those gains. That self discipline translated to my business as well. Allowing me to make quick but thought out decisions. I have become more organized as well. When I retired last year I chose to become a health coach and make my passion my pfofession!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I ran a successful Furniture Store for over 40 years and retired from that last year to pursue my passion for making older men and woman to feel better and happier in their own skin through exercise, diet and outward appearance. I have not cut ties with my first love of Interior Design and continue a Interior design company. Through that end I am beginning a new collaboration with QVC. I am so excited to bring home decor to a wider audience!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say perseverance, an excitement about my passion for fitness, and knowing who to partner with to help me achieve my goals. My advice is to be all in 100% and know where you need help. What are your weaknesses and hire the right person to help with that. Networking and online presence is everything!

How would you describe your ideal client?
My Ideal client is someone who needs that push to make a decision. Someone that has an idea that just cannot make it come to life or has obstacles that they cannot push through. I am there to show them a clear path to success. It can be in interior design regarding the function and aesthetics of the room or with someone’s appearance , Losing the last 10 lbs or understanding diet or updating hairstyle and makeup.
