We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shima Razipour. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shima below.
Hi Shima, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My mother. She is one of the hardest-working women I know. She immigrated to the U.S. at only 19 years old and learned English by watching popular family shows, like Full House. To this day, she does not stop moving. She keeps herself busy and continuously finds ways to enhance her knowledge and well-being.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a full-time Realtor in the South Bay. I work as a Buyer and Listing Specialist part of a prestigious real estate team of 15 agents. We offer our clients a variety of strengths and even speak a multitude of languages. Outside of my career as a Realtor, I own an AIRBNB in Lake Havasu and am also a social media manager for several local companies.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Consistency, support, and authenticity. Staying true to who I am, my goals, my passions, and my character is what has led me to where I am. Without being authentic, I wouldn’t be where I am. My advice to folks looking for success in their careers is to stay true to you. You don’t need to be like others to succeed.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
The current real estate market is challenging for all agents. With rising interest rates, we have no control of making it easier for clients to afford. However, I focus on reminding clients that owning a home is far better than paying someone else’s mortgage. Your first home is never your last so it may not be the home your dreamt of, but it is a step towards gaining equity.
