Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Kruel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Chris, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
It all started with my pops. He has always been a business and risk taker his whole life just by even coming to this country undocumented and fast forward fixing papers to opening his restaurant in East Los Angeles. So we can all agree that my pops has been a big influence to me and where i got the risk taker from.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I go by the name kris cruel on insta or if we want to take to the streets i’m known better as seeno. The name seeno goes way back to my middle school years , another upcoming tagger in Los Angeles ,from the sick side of Pico. Fast forward we put those good memories behind and we got to the best part where Cruel N Revolve was born in East Los Angeles a small little booth where the brand had established is first legitimate presence. Years later we started to develop a good fan based and that helped us reach our very own Flagship aka first home based store in the city of Sanat fe Springs ,California. Sadly we had to close down during the pandemic but still wanted to move forward and try once again. Times are changing, so we moved our business to online and as i speak we are building a private little shop in my home where eventually ,yes it will open to the public but with special requirements and appointments . A little behind the scene we are in the process of joining with one of our very close special friends in the music scene but as of now we are handling the brand first.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me something that has helped me through the years and still trying to be good at it, managing. Managing and organizing is a huge factor where if you get it down , you can make time for everything. Til this day , communication with your colleagues, partners whomever, that goes long term. Without good communication a lot of things can fail from personal to business. For my early birds starting any sort of business or entrepreneurship have thick skin and who cares what anyone says about you or your productivity. Do what works for you and makes you happy and don’t quit , remember if people talk about you in a bad way that means you are doing something good, use that negativity for positivity. Finally, if you are thinking twice about a post ,f*** it just do it and promote, promote ,PROMOTE it and yourself , you may never know how far you can get or doing a good impacts to others.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
To be honest i will say my parter Dahomie Rich . He knows the good and bad side from me to our broke days to our high days to where im in a bad mood and good mood. We talk so much smack to each other to where at the end of the day we are more then just business partners, brothers. He might hold it down today and maybe not tomorrow and i do , but we both got each other and the brand whatever happens we both agree and disagree. Til this day i can say we are both growing and learning new things as far as business and how to level each other up .
