Meet Scott StJohn

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Scott StJohn . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Scott , thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
My self-discipline comes from a desire to be the best version of myself, and this journey includes staying motivated. I don’t compete against others but rather challenge myself to reach new heights. To maintain this self-discipline, I remind myself of my long-term goals and the satisfaction I’ll experience when I achieve them. I also break down these goals into smaller, manageable tasks to make them less daunting. Surrounding myself with a supportive and positive environment, including people who believe in me, is essential for sustaining my motivation. Additionally, I regularly reflect on my progress and celebrate my achievements, which keeps me inspired to continue on this path of self-discipline and self-improvement.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an Attitude Coach, my primary focus is on helping individuals believe in themselves and achieve their personal and professional goals. What makes this role exciting and special is the transformation I witness in my clients. I guide them in developing a positive mindset, self-discipline, and the confidence to pursue their dreams.

What’s particularly special about my approach is the emphasis on self-competition rather than comparing oneself to others. This empowers individuals to set their own standards and continually strive to be the best version of themselves. I empower my clients with the, “I can attitude”.

I’m very fortunate to do this through online fitness and mindset coaching with my wife through our Company Called Strong Confident Living. I also have teamed up to offer nutritional products through Flip My Life. My ongoing commitment is to support and inspire others on their personal growth journeys. If you have any questions or need guidance on building a positive attitude and self-discipline, I’m here to help.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, there were three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that proved to be undeniably impactful:

1. **Relentless Determination:** Unwavering commitment to my goals, even in the face of adversity, has been the driving force behind my journey. The advice I offer to those starting out is simple, actually I use the phase, “K.I.F.S.” Keep It F’n Simple! Set your sights on what you want to achieve, and don’t let anything or anyone deter you from that path. Your determination will fuel your progress.

2. **Emotional Resilience:** The ability to bounce back from setbacks and remain emotionally strong is paramount. Early on, focus on developing emotional resilience by understanding that failures are stepping stones to success. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow stronger, and remember that success is often built on a foundation of past setbacks. We all fall down, but how you get up and continue on is where the difference lies.

3. **Adaptive Learning:** Being able to adapt, evolve, and learn from experiences is a pivotal quality. My advice to those starting their journey is to learn rapidly and effectively. Embrace new challenges, seek knowledge from various sources, and be flexible in your approach. Adaptation is often the key to staying on a path of growth and achievement.

Your journey will be defined by your determination, resilience, and ability to adapt. Harness these qualities, and you’ll find yourself on a path to remarkable growth and success.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful things my parents did for me was teaching me to believe in myself, work hard, and never quit. These invaluable life lessons have been the foundation of my journey and the principles I continue to carry with me as an Attitude Coach.
