Meet Molly Buffham

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Molly Buffham. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Molly, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
In September of 2022, my husband returned from his year long deployment and was horrified by how my business had taken over our home. It was time to take the leap and get into our first dedicated space for Donut Junkie and it was absolutely horrifying.

The timing of the move and all the expenses associated with it, turned out to be a doozy. We had also just paid a big sum of money to a marketing company AND it was the end of the quarter. But it HAD to be done. The only way we were going to grow was to get uncomfortable again.

When everything was said and done, I found myself (financially) back at step one, and now I had overhead to consider and employees counting on me.

So now I’m in this new space and I have very little money to work with. It was time to get creative.

How do I add more value to our potential clients? How can I get a bigger reach? Where can we cut back even as prices continue to rise? Ultimately, it lead me start, The Party Hustler, a new social media series (still in it’s infancy) where we give audiences an inside look into the world of Event Industry Professionals. We offer advice, tricks, tips, hacks, stories and education.

It also gives me an outlet to combine two of my favorite things: acting and business.

It’s my hope to drum up excitment from our participating Pros, many of whom are small business owners who can benefit from additional exposure. I want their voices, their stories and their advice to be heard. I believe when pulling from other talent pools and not just relying on my point of view, the chances of the audience growing for all of us is multiplied.

So risky? Yes. Necessary? Absolutely.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the Owner of Donut Junkie. We are a mini donut catering company where we level up your party by bringing you and your guests the coolest (and most delicious) Dessert Entertainment around.

Donut shop? Nope! We literally bring our tiny donut machine to your event and make hot, fresh mini donuts on-site.

Any party. Any size.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
At the risk of sounding terribly outdated (and I use this word lightly) network. Get to know people in your industry and people who’s industry compliments yours. When people get to know you face to face, they trust you. They essentially are buying into YOU. Simply start building friendships, get yourself and your brand out on social media and from there, things will start clicking.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love collaborating. It’s such a grassroots way to build your brand by bringing in other people who have ideas/products/services that compliment yours.

We are always looking to work with Event/Wedding/Party planners. We love working with hospitals, schools, corporate entities and beyond. Additionally, caterers and venues.

One area we need to ramp up is becoming an additional service for businesses that offer event and party rentals. We have no problem going “no label” and bringing value to another company that may benefit from having our mini donut services on their roster.
