We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christine Frey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christine below.
Christine, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
During the first forty-nine years of my life, I was stuck in a desperate and dangerous cycle of domestic violence and sexual assault. When I was finally free from the dysfunctional relationships, I realized that I was a survivor with a lot of resilience and that I wanted to step fully into a life of thriving! This was scary and exciting at the same time, and through therapy, healing work and my unshakeable faith in my Higher Power, I firmly claimed my new life. I think resilience can be described in a lot of ways, and I know that for me its the ability to overcome many challenges while helping others through similar circumstances and situations. My passion for the last half of my life is to help as many people as I can and to let them know that they aren’t alone. I believe the story of every survivor I have the blessing to work with, and I am honored to be a part of their healing journey.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My business, Centerpoint Healing Services, is a safe space for all humans, especially anyone ready to enhance their lives and deepen their transformational awareness through Shamanic healing, Reiki and trauma-informed yoga. Learning how to recognize and tolerate physical sensations with the use of trauma-informed yoga is life changing. My offerings of Reiki help to promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve overall health mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. The passion I have for helping people to identify and clear any unwanted, and unhealthy, energies allows them to more easily move forward in their lives without the stumbling blocks that have been holding them back. Making sure that every survivor feels safe, comfortable, heard, valued and supported is a very important part of the healing process. Also, I empower everyone with aftercare, tools and techniques that help them continue their profound healing journey.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Great question! The three qualities that were the most impactful in my journey have to be learning to have patience with myself, getting out of my own way and forgiving myself. Learning that I don’t have to hide my story and that I am enough is quite impactful to me as well. I always tell the people I work with that not everyone deserves to hear their story and only those who can bear the weight of it should be told, Surrounding themselves with safe, emotionally people and creating firm boundaries is essential to a healthy healing environment. Also, paying close attention to everything you think and say about yourself is extremely important, because you are always listening to yourself!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents were very spiritual people, and they helped me cultivate my psychic and mediumship gifts that I was first aware of when I was two years old. Many of my clients have spiritual gifts that aren’t gifts, because they weren’t taught how to use them without becoming overwhelmed, they have religious programming and they weren’t taught to protect their energy space. They also have taught me resilience, that I am not the things that have happened to me and that I am so much more than I ever thought possible.
