We recently connected with Seerel Meadows and have shared our conversation below.
Seerel , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Keeping creativity alive is the most important part of content creation! And honestly, it’s the most fun part, too. I am constantly reinvigorated by my audience. I love seeing what type of content they engage with, what events and locations have them the most interested, and what questions or requests they have for me. This interaction helps guide my content creation, so I know where to go and what to introduce next.
The ever-expanding landscape of Dallas’ social and entertainment scene is also key to keeping creativity alive. I am so lucky to live in a city that is consistently at the forefront of innovative trends and experiences. Our restaurants are constantly evolving and creating new experiences for diners. Dallas is home to exclusive events, one-of-a-kind pop-ups, and unique interactions that I love to try, review, and share with my audience.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Dallas Discovered is the ultimate insider guide to innovative experiences in Dallas. My mission is to bolster the lifestyle sector of Dallas in terms of both patrons and businesses alike. I strive to find unique, exceptional restaurants, events, and entrepreneurs and share their creations with my audience. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed hosting and creating and now I get to do it on a larger scale. I’ve always loved sharing the latest and greatest experiences with my friends and that’s how I think of my audience – as friends visiting Dallas from another area. I take them along with me to my favorite spots and events. Since its inception, Dallas Discovered has continually been at the forefront of the ever-changing entertainment scene because that is where I’ve always liked to be. Dallas Discovered is authentically me. From restaurants I love, to staycations that saved my sanity, and even my dog-approved pet hot spots, I give my all, and my many Happy Hour recommendations, to my audience. My overarching goal is to provide my audience with recommendations they can trust and can adapt to their needs and desires. My reliable guides are constantly sourced by visitors and Texas natives alike to find the best holiday extravaganzas, truly Texan experiences, or limited time pop-ups.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think my most impactful skill has been relationship-building. When I was just launching Dallas Discovered, my biggest focus was engagement with my audience. I made it a priority to respond to every comment and question, which resulted in more authentic interactions with people who were truly searching for the best experiences Dallas had to offer. Dallas Discovered followers came to trust the quality of our content as they tried and loved our recommendations. Every time I showcased a new experience or locale, my audience was eager to share the information with friends and family, creating an even wider net of exposure. Even as our audience grows, I still focus strongly on quality engagement with people looking for the hottest spots in Dallas.
Second, along the same theme, I also focus on creating a strong rapport with Dallas entrepreneurs and business owners. By creating balanced relationships with these innovators, I can keep my audience informed of the latest and greatest happenings, while also helping local businesses launch their new endeavors.
Third, a quality I try to infuse into my business is appreciation. I try to show my audience that I appreciate their trust in me, and their engagement, by offering them my take on experiences but also striving to make these experiences accessible to them. It can be something small – highlighting Happy Hours and local deals, or more tangible, like offering custom Dallas Discovered promo codes to help make experiences more affordable. My absolute favorite way to show my audience that I appreciate them is with Giveaways! I absolutely love sharing experiences through giveaways. It is both beneficial for the audience, as they try something new, and the host, as the exposure can bring in new business. It’s the most rewarding feeling to let someone enjoy an event or memory that they may not have been able to without the giveaway.
My advice for people just beginning to build their social media presence would be to find a good balance between your vision and your audience’s interests. Be adaptable and engage with your audience. Every follower brings with them a specific need or desire and engaging with them can help guide content creation. No matter the size of your audience, if they trust your taste, they will share your finds and bring more people to your platform.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are always looking for new collaborators! The ever-changing nature of content creation leaves the door wide open for discovering new partners. We encourage any business, individual, or innovator in the Dallas area to reach out to us if they are trying to showcase their restaurant, event, and shop. We love to experience and share all that Dallas has to offer!
