We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robreauna Ruiz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Robreauna, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from My dad and my grandma honestly, they’re my biggest motivation. I’ve watched both of them defeat hardships in their life nearly my entire life and still remain hardworking God fearing individuals. They definitely uplift me daily and keep me afloat through this crazy thing we call life lol.

My name is Robreauna Ruiz. I am a Bay Area native, born and raised but I now live in Atlanta. I started my lash business Fash N’ Lash in 2018 and chose to expand my businesses and move to Atlanta in 2020. I quickly created a name for myself in the Beauty industry as one of Atlanta’s Top requested lash artists working with many celebrities, and garnered substantial success in the beauty industry which allowed me to open new business ventures.
Fash N’ Lash is a well known lash brand in the beauty industry doing lash services and selling lash products. During the pandemic, I invested my lash money into starting my own curly hair company named CurlCandi in rememberance of my late mother, who was a inspiring hairstylist but her life was cut short at only 20 years old due to gun violence. After my launch CurlCandi became one of the top Curly Hair Companies in Atlanta. My influence pushed me to step into other business lanes outside of Beauty which is how “Sugar Baby Creamery” came as an idea. While visiting home in the summer of 2018, I learned about Rolled Ice Cream which is a sweet dish designed in Thailand where an ice cream base is poured onto a frozen pan and scraped up into crepe-shaped rolls! I was extremely impressed and came up with the idea to open a shop in Atlanta.
Sugar Baby Creamery is a new upscale ice cream shop with an aethestic that is Sugar Daddy/Sugar Baby inspired with a selfie museum inside! Rolled Ice Cream is considered “Designer Ice Cream” due to its unique design and production, watching the process alone is very eye catching! The Ice Cream Museum is a very popular year round event that was found in San Francisco. So being from the Bay Area, I chose to bring this concept to life in Atlanta for Sugar Baby Creamery to not only sell upscale Ice Cream, but create a fun environment that’s aesthetically pleasing for adults and children! We sell over 20 flavors and also sell crazy milkshakes also! I plan to expand and franchise more.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Having faith is #1, I pray ALOT. I’m very God Fearing and a huge risk taker and with risks comes having a very strong backbone when it comes to your faith. #2 Would be Consistency, you have to continously strive for your goals and dreams daily.. even if it doesn’t make sense, even small things add to the end goal — so I’m very big on planning, and then execution. Also #3 would be Creativity. I think it’s VITAL to create businesses that stand out and give customers/clients/patients etc.. an experience. An unforgettable one at that, that’s worth talking about. Even if you sell a product, the overall creativity of your craft has to stand out. It’s important to take time to brew and bake what you want to execute. Don’t put yourself on a time limit, let your creativity drive you. It always worth it.

Battlefield of The Mind by Joyce Meyers was the most life changing book I ever read in my life. It provided the proper tools to teach me how to move through life and overall have a positive outcome on things I may not understand. As I said before, I’m a woman of God so this book definitely teaches you how to have strong faith and apply faith to your life and how to not allow your negative thoughts to consume you. It’s a must read. I’ve recommended it to all my friends and they all agreed it was life changing for sure.
