Meet King Taycho

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful King Taycho . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with King below.

Hi King , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
“My resilience is deeply rooted in the community and neighborhood where I grew up. The environment instilled in me a relentless spirit, a ‘never quit, never let up’ attitude that has been instrumental in overcoming challenges and adversities. While many around me succumbed to various addictions due to their associations and circumstances, I was fortunate to be guided by principles that taught me to rise above such influences. This upbringing has not only shaped my resilience but also honed my ability to navigate through difficult situations, always striving for success no matter the odds.”

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Currently, I’m spearheading the creation of a multicultural co-working space in underprivileged areas. This initiative aims to provide individuals with limited opportunities a secure, conducive environment to cultivate their businesses or brands.

Additionally, I’m devising activities for young teens, such as introducing them to the gaming community. This initiative is designed to engage youth in constructive activities, thereby helping to reduce crime rates in low-income areas.

I’m also in the process of producing a music album titled “BankHead Mosaic,” which will be complemented by a book named “How Do We Come Back From That.” These projects aim to inspire introspection about our shared human experience and foster a spirit of kindness and generosity.

The album title, “Bankhead Mosaic,” was inspired by a podcast by author and motivational speaker Eric Thomas. He discussed how art is a composite of thousands of different shapes, sizes, and colors of glass and tile. This resonated with me, reminding me of times when I felt shattered, yet when I pieced myself together and focused, I realized I was a masterpiece. The album will delve into the root causes and effects of experiences in my life, as well as the decisions I’ve observed others make, which have had both positive and negative ripple effects.

As an artist, I believe my audacious and courageous attitude sets me apart. To thrive as an artist in Atlanta, one must be innovative, distinctive, and unafraid to disrupt the status quo. I’m not hesitant to tackle subjects that may seem uncomfortable, as these conversations often pave the way for progressive solutions to many of the challenges we face as a society.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I have to say my children were the biggest motivating conduit to a lot of circumstances that had me feeling as though I wouldn’t be able to make it through as an adult I noticed that a lot of changes when I brought them into this world and I had this new found purpose for myself and my own life, even though as a child I was taught to be strong my child brought a new weakness and also a new strength to my life. And I think it’s cool being a father and also a artist and having the time to pour into my daughters and my sons and kinda see how my creativity spills into them and they just absorb and create in their own ways.

In addition my advice for someone else who is in the beginning stages of their journey would be to never lose your child like wonder and imagination when it comes to creativity and life, put down your phone take road trips scream loud in the middle of nowhere dance with someone you just meet and just take down all conformity and then come back to yourself and illustrate through whatever creative medium you may have and even if you have a spouse you should follow the same steps and I’m only saying that becua It has worked for me at times when I felt like I couldn’t write or produce anything

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My father has been the most influential person in my life, despite the fact that our relationship has had its fair share of highs and lows. As a child, I didn’t always understand or appreciate his advice, but as I grew older, I realized that his words were the guiding principles I needed to become a better man. He taught me the importance of being a protector and a provider, values that I now hold dear. Even though our relationship was not always smooth, I am grateful for the lessons he imparted, as they have shaped me into the person and artist that I am today.
