Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Reginald Parham. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Reginald, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my family. My parents survived and thrived, through the pre-and post-Civil Rights era with tenacity and hard work. They believed in their worth and their children’s worth. They instilled that mindset into myself and my brother. Life is a gift and we have the responsibility to live fully and pursue our calling unashamedly.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hello, I am a studio musician my main focus is remote saxophone recording for producers and fellow musicians. After many years performing for freelance and in bands I am excited to continue this phase of my career.I have been blessed to record for artists and producers in the United States and South America so far. To showcase my versatility I have 23 recordings produced in my studio posted online under Reg Parham Music on Youtube and also streaming on various services such as Spotify Pandora etc..,. Those recording allow potential clients an opportunity to hear the varied genres I am capable of providing service for. This winter, I will include a holiday album with a guest vocalist. In 2024 I will have various collaborations with talented vocalists and instrumentalists to look forward to.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I feel the ability to adapt to change while maintaining core beliefs is essential. Love what you do and be willing toward hard to obtain it. Believe you are worth success.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My musical mentor and friend Tim Price helped me to find my individual voice on saxophone. His life was a testimony of discovery , respecting those that came before and being unafraid to become an innovator with your own voice.
