We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Quewithdavybez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Quewithdavybez below.
Quewithdavybez, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
The way I maintain my creativity is by doing 3 things: being unique, authentic & through storytelling. Being creative has always been a natural gift of mine that just so happen to be an outlet for me when I’ve went through hard times in my life as a kid & as an adult.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I was originally born & raised in Baton Rouge Louisiana. I Traveled city to city during my college life as I played basketball & ultimately obtained my degree. I was the 1st one out of my household to do so.
The thing that I’m focused on professionally is my music career which I’ve been doing consistently for about 3 years now and i enjoy every moment of it. Creating Music is a way for me to escape whatever I may be going through and just be creative as possible. I also use my music as a way to motivate and inspire the youth. (Everything I’ve ever done or accomplished in life has been because of Gods grace & mercy over my life, combined with a whole lot of hard work & self-motivation)
New projects and singles are on the way! I’m currently getting ready to release a new single off my 2nd studio album called SEE YA BUST IT’. My 1st studio album (The Beginning) is still available everywhere for streaming.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that impacted my journey would be the ability to remain self-motivated, persistence & becoming my own engineer.
When you’re an inspiring artist, one key thing that will always have you second guessing your decision is the lack of funds.
For that very reason; self-motivation, persistence, and engineering are three things you have to take serious.
If you’re serious about your dream, you will find that motivation within and when you do, keep going when times get tough! Be persistent at it until things pop. As for becoming your own engineer, invest in some studio equipment instead shoes or clothes. Buy some software (pro-tools or GarageBand which is free on Mac) and watch tutorial videos on that software first. Afterwards, practice until you create a style that’s catered to your sound.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest area of growth has been my growth as a man. Anybody that knows me knows When i chase my dream, trust and believe I go all in with it, but at the end of the day my personal growth matters more. Growing more as a man matters because when I grow more as a man, it helps with decision making, creativity with the music and as an artist.
