Meet Khadijah Page

We recently connected with Khadijah Page and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Khadijah , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I believe my resilience comes from a lot not as easy to call for help. Thankfully, I do have clients and friends who support my journey as a single mother.

Owning a business through the pandemic has been a challenge. I’ve had to downsize, but I’ve still managed to maintain with God’s help. God has blessed me to be able to expand my business with more than just hair services. I also provide quality hair bundles and products from my SheKare product line.

Being a business owner can be overwhelming. There are times that I wanted to give up. In those times, I’ve had to remind myself that this is my passion. It brings me joy to be able to make people feel beautiful, and provide quality services and products. Through it all, I’ve learned to trust God and keep going. The struggles I’ve encountered made me more resilient and pushed me to be better.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist and owner hair consisting of different textures. With professional care and proper maintenance, my brand of hair will last up to two to three years it is shed free, and it colors well.

I also produce and sell my nourishing SheKare hair oil. I am currently working to expand my hair care products to include shampoo and conditioner.

The most exciting and rewarding part of being a hair stylist is seeing the smiles from my customers when they leave my salon. I believe that having healthy, well maintained hair can boost your confidence.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think being focused, staying disciplined, and being determined to excel is what pushed me along this journey. I’ve encountered many obstacles in my years of being a stylist and business owner. But, I was determined that nothing would keep me from doing what I love. Every obstacle I’ve ever overcome has refined me into a better person.

My advice to anyone in the early stages of their journey is to never give up on your dreams and goals. Don’t let anything break you or keep you from doing what you dream of doing. Learn from your mistakes and struggles, and help others along the way.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
It truly has taken a village to get me me to do more than I could imagine. They challenged me to always work to outdo myself; to not compare my journey to anyone else’s.

My clients have also played a significant role in helping me to be successful. Their trust in my brand motivates me to continuously provide quality services and products and always work to become better at what I do.

My family and friends overwhelming support has allowed me to grow as a business owner. From helping with my son to volunteering their time to help me distribute products, their sacrifice motivates me to keep pushing.

Lastly, I thank God for the talent He gave me. I think that cultivating a deeper relationship with God has allowed me to be blessed with a lot of creative ideas for my business.
