We were lucky to catch up with Cindy Morales recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Cindy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My father… is the first thing that comes to my mind when I read this question. As a daughter of an immigrant who did more than just conquer his dreams and live the American dream he also was an entrepreneur. At the age of 33 my father was diagnosed with a rare disease and decided to move back to his country (Guatemala) and we had no choice but to come along for the ride. Through his ups and downs he still managed to open up several small businesses be successful. Illness or no illness his work ethic and passion to live a happy life has shown me to live with no limits, no excuses. If he did it, so could I and I know he is up in heaven looking down so proud!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Working alongside the best Dermatologist in the South Bay as a Medical Assistant is how and when I fell in love with skin and helping others love the skin their in and decided to go back to school and become an Esthetician. My passion for results is what drives me the most and I know that’s why my clients have been so loyal and shown me so much love and support. I am always looking for the best skincare products and best technology for them and Glow Haus.
Glow Haus in Hermosa Beach became an idea in May of 2023 and decided to launch in August!
Hoping to expand to Manhattan Beach in 2024 bringing new services like Microneedling with Radiofrequency and Skin Tightening with Radiofrequency, massage and spray tanning.
Very excited for the New Year!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Being open to always learning. In the skincare world technology is always expanding and growing. I am always joining webinars, luncheons, dinner events etc. There’s always so much to learn from others and your client will trust you if you know what you are talking about.
2. To perfect your skill you have to know how to communicate.
Clients will have questions and you want to be confident in what you are telling them so learning how to communicate is important for your clients to trust you.
3. Be personable.
Clients like to be listened to, so listen. Remember and note their skincare products, skincare concerns. Ensure you are helping them achieve their goals.
Clients come to you and confide in you, so remember their son or daughters name, remember if they are coming in for a special occasion to ask how their event went. Clients become friends so always make them feel like you care.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
As of right now I am the technician, the receptionist, marketing strategist, social media director etc. Wearing a lot of hats when starting your own business can be overwhelming while juggling personal life: being a mother, daughter, sister and wife.
But that is when time management comes into play.
My early morning before coming into the office is when I will answer emails, schedule post on social media, answer calls and text messages from clients because the moment I step into the treatment room it’s go, go, go. After a day of facials and treatments, again I will schedule post on social media and answer any text or emails because the moment I get home I want to be present with my family.
