Meet Aradhika Raturi

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aradhika Raturi . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Aradhika , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Music has always been the center of my life. It has been the constant that kept me grounded when life became chaotic. As a child, music was the way I existed, my refuge, my play, my expression, and my worship.

It was only after being separated from my music for over a year, after going through my first existential crisis, after trying to cultivate new passions and losing sight of who and what I was, I realized that music was my purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a Cuban-Indian 24 year-old artist, singer-songwriter, and musician, based in Miami. I began my study of both Western and Indian Classical Music at the age of 6, on the piano and sitar. I performed extensively growing up, primarily my own compositions.

Even though I have spent more time with piano and sitar, singing is my favorite form of musical expression. My goal is to create music that incorporates the instrumental music I dedicated my life to, combined with vocals in the Pop genre, as well as House.

My first single, Let Me Feel Your Love (now available on all streaming platforms), is an example of this.

After taking several months off from performing, I am preparing to resume live performances, focused on my new single.

Performing live is one of my favorite things to do- it is truly a privilege to drop into a deep space of vulnerability with myself, in front of other people, and share this music that is so precious to me.

I believe that every kind of art is a service to humanity- it reminds us to feel deeply, to experience life, as fearlessly as we dare, and to love both internal and external beauty- and music is what does this for me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities to do anything successfully are discipline, consistency, and patience.

Without discipline, talent is nothing. It is discipline that creates mastery. Do the thing you want to become better at every day, even when you don’t feel like it, until it becomes a part of you. And even then, continue to do it. There is always room for improvement no matter how good you are.

Consistency is vital to improvement in any area of life, and especially in the creative fields. You have to be consistent, even when you don’t feel inspired, because eventually, that consistency will give you results, but it is not overnight.

Patience is such an important quality as well, and one that I remind myself to practice every day. There are days when it feels like there is no progress, but as long as you are doing your best, that is all that matters.

Another thing that is extremely important is gratitude. Practicing gratitude, daily, if you can, is truly magical. Try to find even five things that you are grateful for, and when you do this, you shift your energy into a place of abundance, from where, I believe, you can attract and achieve what you want.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents have supported my music career, extensively, beginning with piano, sitar, and vocal lessons, investing in the best quality instruments, to flying me across the country to attend music workshops, throughout the year, so that I could study in-person with my sitar teacher, Ustad Shahid Parvez.

My parents also chose to homeschool me- a decision that gave me complete freedom to play music for hours on end, without the pressures of going to a formal school.

They drove me to every recital, encouraged and loved me through every musical phase I went through.

Even as a young adult, they have continued to support me, in every way. I am so incredibly grateful to them, and could never have become the artist that I am today without them.

They have both given me such wisdom and invaluable life skills, in different but equally important ways, and I thank God for giving me such wonderful parents.
