Meet Tandis Esfandiari

We recently connected with Tandis Esfandiari and have shared our conversation below.

Tandis, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I was once a very timid little girl who didn’t speak much. Despite having dreams of making something of myself, I felt my awkwardness often got in the way. My growth stopped at the age of 9, leaving me at 5’10” ever since. Being the lanky tall girl, especially before laser hair removal (haha), was tough, and I struggled to find confidence. As I matured, I began to regret how harshly I judged my younger self. To compensate for my earlier lack of confidence, I became overly confident later in life. My newfound modeling career played a significant role in helping me step out of my comfort zone. I’ve adopted a “say yes to everything” mentality (within reason), striving to live my life to the fullest. After all, you can’t do that if you always have your guard up.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hello! I’m Tandis Esfandiari, originally from the Washington DC area. My journey into jewelry-making began during my first year of high school at the age of 15. I started by selling handmade pieces in the bustling spaces between classes, like bathrooms and the cafeteria. Witnessing the demand, I was prompted me to create a website and delve into influencer and social media marketing.

Concurrently, I cultivated my own audience on social media where I now have 114,000 followers on Instagram and 400,000 on Tiktok. While best known for my comedic cooking videos, I’ve also found success as a professional model, signed with the Campbell Agency and One Management, making modeling one of my greatest joys and a fulfilling career pursuit.

Beyond the realms of social media , jewelry designing, and modeling, I recently graduated from SMU with a major in marketing and a minor in advertising. In the corporate sphere, I assist various companies in managing their social media presence. My diverse passions extend to singing, playing guitar and piano, and indulging my love for travel.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
As a business owner, model, and influencer, my journey to success has been marked by three pivotal qualities: innovation, creativity, and an unyielding work ethic. In my early years of jewelry-making in high school, I constantly embraced innovation, adapting my craft to meet the evolving demands of my audience. Creativity has been the driving force behind my online presence, particularly evident in the acclaimed comedic cooking videos that showcase my unique blend of humor and culinary skills. Yet, it’s my relentless work ethic that truly underpins my achievements. Balancing a jewelry business, a substantial social media following, and a flourishing modeling career requires dedication and resilience. These qualities collectively propel me forward, serving as a testament to the power of innovation, creativity, and hard work on the path to entrepreneurial success.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Recently, I’ve honed my ability to sidestep procrastination. I recognized that there’s no better moment than the present to seize opportunities. The realization that I am the architect of my future has fueled a proactive mindset, propelling me to avoid idle moments. I’ve come to understand that success isn’t a product of waiting but of taking deliberate action. By embracing a sense of urgency, I’ve positioned myself optimally, ready to welcome the opportunities that unfold. I find fulfillment in continuous progress, for I believe that an active pursuit of goals not only wards off procrastination but also opens the door to a wealth of possibilities.
