Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ebenezer Alasi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ebenezer , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes mainly from my upbringing and background. Now, I’m not saying I grew up poor, but I definitely wasn’t born with a silver spoon. I had most (not all) the things I needed. I remember my mother especially, working hard to give us a more than decent life. As a child, I had wants, I had big dreams and hopes, that were bigger than the little city I grew up in. It wasn’t long before I learnt that I had to create the life I desired for myself. So now, when things get tough, I remind myself how far I’ve come and all the things I had to conquer to get there, this is what gives me the strength to keep on.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m what most people call a multi-disciplinary artist. From a very young age, I’ve had a passion for all the arts, singing, dancing, acting, painting, writing… now, most of these didn’t get developed. Life also has taken me in so many directions over the years, from Engineering to Finance to Now Data Analysis (Tech). At the end of the day, at my core… I am an Artist. Singing is my passion and I am a trained Actor!
I recently had a private screening for a short film I co-executive produced with a group of amazingly talented friends in 2021. We’re hoping to have a great festival run with the short and hopefully release for public viewing after.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In terms of qualities, I’d say Embracing Change, Persevering and Always Learning .
I’ve always considered myself someone with a spirit for excellence (paying attention to the little details that count), I try to apply this to everything I do. For anyone who’s chosen this path, always believe in yourself, don’t quit… every single day you wake up is another chance you get at the life you desire!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am ALWAYS looking for people to partner with.
I have always believed that collaboration is the way forward, you win with the people you grow with. I am willing and looking to collaborate with song writers, music producers, actors or content creators, screenwriters, directors and producers, photographers etc. Really any one in the arts who has a vision or a project they want to bring to life.
