We recently connected with Kevin Nash and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
The path to finding my purpose is ever evolving! To me it’s been an endless exciting trip with many twists and turns down a scenic narrow road filled with great rewards, setbacks, lessons, ups and downs, and a guiding voice in my spirit that tells me to keep moving forward. Looking back in retrospect, every event , good & bad, played a significant part in my discovery of my purpose. I was introduced to radio and radio broadcasting at the age of 11, 43 years later I’m still on the air, and now teaching the art of Radio / Podcasting to over 50 students weekly through my Accelerated Radio School of Broadcasting program, on the campuses of LAUSD & IUSD (Inglewood Unified School District)

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m addicted to radio, digital technology & marketing, and I love teaching and preparing the next generation of broadcasters and technical audio / video engineers. I’m excited to wake up every morning to put in at least 16 hours daily towards my purpose and businesses. I’ve built multi-media studios on the school campuses of LA Unified and Inglewood Unified School districts, and The Brotherhood Crusade- I make my rounds to 3 schools per day to teach, and I still manage to show up for my nightly 7p-12a show on 102.3 FM KJLH, Monday – Friday. I’m also the owner of The Accelerated Radio Multi-Media Creative Studios in Inglewood, we’re open to all creative podcasters that are in need of space to stream or record their content. Our website is AcceleratedRadio.net We can be heard on all smart-devices including Alexa, Google home, Siri, etc. Accelerated Radio is also a “Live” 24/7/365 digital radio station, we have a free mobile app for Android and iPhone.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
A few things you must stay true to – #1 Integrity, it’s so important to be impeccable with your word to others, and to yourself. Being a person of good character is far more valuable than anything, it is the formula to long-lasting success! #2 Consistency. Even if it seems like success is not moving in your direction fast enough, stay true to what you love, become the best at it, don’t crave for attention, continue working your craft even when you’re not getting the attention you feel you deserve, The Most High is always watching! #3 Gratitude- always keep a grateful attitude towards GOD and others. Never forget who gave you a break, remember to give thanks for not only the great things, but also to the events that will come to teach lessons. Randomly call or text your past mentors a word of thanks to let them know you’ll never forget. From time to time, take time to count your blessings.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
My goal is to pick up more school districts around the globe, I believe in giving our youth a head-start into the creative digital media world. I’m currently seeking passionate creative instructors, potential philanthropic sponsors, and school administrators who sees and understand the value of Accelerated Radio. I usually compare Accelerated Radio to basketball, it’s a complete academic workout. Teaching students communication skills, creative writing, collaboration, time management, networking, and research techniques. Empower them to use their voices to tell their stories and connect with their communities. It also reduces social isolation and promote positive youth development.
