Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hoda Mohajerani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hoda, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I am a child of revolution. When my family fled Iran in the ‘79 revolution, I had to learn new languages, new cultures, new paradigms. My parents nurtured both the knowledge and remembrance of my heritage whilst teaching me critical thinking and dialogue skills. The rich and diverse tapestry of my own life has required of me to anchor in embodied truth; address complexity with systems-thinking and develop the necessary resilience to navigate uncertainty with courage and love.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have a background in human rights and environmental advocacy and studied comparative religions. The intersection where consciousness meets physical reality has always fascinated me. My company, Chakra Chai is, as one journalist put it “the brand from the beyond”. A year after the death of my baby boy, Arta, I was deep in meditation when I heard him say those two little words “Chakra Chai”. In the dialogue that ensued, he showed me the blueprint of a business based on interconnectedness of all life. The health of the individual and the earth are inextricably bound. So, together with my team, we began working on a regenerative, organic, local systems-based business model and products that are rooted in the oldest medical wisdom tradition of the world, namely, Ayurveda. After three years in R&D, we came to market in 2021 with seven “elixirs” that support the Chakras. Chakras are energy “wheels” or centers in our subtle bodies that in modern medicine have been linked to our neuro-endocrinal systems. Our products are formulated harnessing the intelligence of WHOLE, ORGANIC HERBS in synergistic ratio-blends to support our emotional and physical wellbeing. Our products are also all activated with various sound frequencies. In addition, we have developed a unique impact model called “Seven Chakras, Seven Causes”. We donate to seven different charities from our top-line revenue, which means our clients don’t have to choose between healing themselves or healing the world! In fact, one of our taglines is “Heal Yourself, Heal the World”! We are based out of California and our products are available at all Lazy Acres stores as well as online. It is our mission to create healthy, local ecosystems that support our local farmers and communities and then replicate as we grow. We are currently raising capital to acquire land to transition to regenerative organic farming to create a local supply “web” of our ingredients. Farm to Bottle!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My first and strongest skill is my capacity for love and empathy. Next, my unwavering commitment to radical honesty. And third, my ability to utilize every challenge and uncertainty as an opportunity to deepen my trust in the “Great Architect”. I have seen in my own experience how these three skills and areas of knowledge, when developed, become the inextinguishable lights that illuminate everything from how we choose to look at things, to our discernment, our decision-making processes, our right-relationship with others (especially ourselves and our teams) and our ability to be both transformed and transformative.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We always welcome value and mission aligned partners. Whether you are a farmer, an investor, a marketing agency or you have an area of expertise you think is helpful in supporting Chakra Chai to realize healthy, regenerative futures for our communities and planet, we’d love to hear from you!
