Meet Bill Reicherter

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bill Reicherter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Bill, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
It all starts with a vision. A vision of where you see yourself in 5, 10, 15, 20 years down the road and when you think of those various time frames, how does it make you feel. Self fulfilled? Frustrated? Maybe mixed emotions. I personally found that putting a vision board together is a great exercise in creating a road map for your future. Purpose can have a myriad of meanings and everyone is different in what makes them tick, so you have to be able to identify what you want your life to look like from the ending backwards. Always start with the end in mind so you can create the path to get there. For me, my passion lyes in people. I have been a servant all my life to people and finding ways to improve the life of each person I come in contact with. For example, I created several businesses in my life and each one of them focus on people. From employee retention to customer satisfaction to making sure all the work we do comes back to bettering our community through activism and volunteerism. Its important to me that our employees receive education while employed with me.. From financial literacy and investing in there retirements to college courses, we paid for this to employees that were with us for so many years. I also made sure we always preached the importance of giving back and teaching our children the meaning of being a servant leader, in school and in the community. One of my very big concerns that I share with people in my life on both the professional and community level is the DASH on our tomb stone. That dash represents our lives, so find the true purpose that resonates with you and go for it in life. There is no practice round to life, we get one go around, so take your best at life and live it as big as you can within your purpose.

This is how I would say to a good starting point to finding your purpose is:
-What truly makes you happy?
-Did you experience pain or trauma in your life that fuels you share with others?
-Find people to share your time with that inspire you, your passion my be found through inspiriations?
-What activities fuels you that you just can’t get enough of? Can you take that passion and turn it into a career?
-Who was your hero in life and why?

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Professionally I am a licensed contractor in the Sign Industry as well as Real Estate. As I mentioned in the previous question about passion, I am now living out my passion in a few fields. I am currently running for State House in Florida and heavily focused in the campaign. My passion for people and serving has transformed into higher levels now as we all need heros, and elected representatives that are on the side of the people, so I am looking forward to joining those elite few in Government that really focus on people and community as opposed to the ones that are self absorbed. Another passion that I have always had is creating a non-profit, which I can say I proudly have done. The name of the non-profit is Reicherter Foundation and we focus on community efforts that bridge the gap of peoples needs that government or other civilian organizations just can’t find time or money for. These efforts are directly impacting the needs of the selected people or organizations we are working with. You can learn more about the Reicherter Foundation at www.ReicherterFoundation.org.

A new product we recently launched was Ghost Backpacks. The backpacks are a clear backpack that we had made, which we are sell online and a portion of the profits are donated to organizations that are involved in eradicating human trafficking. We must stand up against this and the donations of profits from this product line is our contribution. To learn more about Ghost please visit www.ghostbackpacks.com

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I will say that the biggest asset in my professional career has been always surrounding myself with people that I wanted to be like. It is so important to have mentors in life and business that inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Ones that lead by example and not talk to talk but have no walk. If you want to be something or someone that leaves an impact on this world that lives on, you need to take your passion to new levels and surround yourself with like minded individuals that have an achievement mindset. Those are the people that hold you accountable in life and make you better everyday and in return, you make them better. Keep in mind, you can always tell where you are in life and where your going by the people you surround yourself with.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book that changed my life is a quick read called Who Moved My Cheese, by Spencer Johnson. I highly recommend this book because what it does is give you an insight into the world of being stuck and the importance of unsticking your mind to get to the next level in life when things dry up and aren’t working anymore. Humans are programmed to solve problems and sometimes those problems are unsolvable due to situations and we need to learn to change with the times or we become extinct. This book uses the example of four mice and the mice are in pairs. One pair of mice look at the problem and see its not resolving itself or has no resolution and moves on while the other pair are afraid of change and the fear almost kills them. I highly recommend this book to anyone getting started in life and business.

I will say that this book was the catalyst for me to make my first million and its theory has always been my staple in life and business. Sometimes you have to not let fear dictate the result and you have to make a change without over thinking the situation. Easier said then done but actually the most effective method I have found in my journey though life.
