Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latravia Cropp. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Latravia, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Building confidence and self-esteem is a gradual process that involves self-reflection, positive habits, and mindful actions. Here is how I built my self esteem and confidence:
1. **Set Realistic Goals:** Start with achievable goals that allow you to experience success and build confidence over time.
2. **Celebrate Achievements:** Acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. This reinforces a positive self-image.
3. **Positive Affirmations:** Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of your strengths and capabilities regularly.
4. **Self-Compassion:** Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, especially during challenging times. Avoid harsh self-criticism.
5. **Learn and Grow:** Embrace a growth mindset. See challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement rather than as failures.
6. **Body Language:** Adopt confident body language. Stand tall, make eye contact, and use a firm handshake. These actions can positively impact how you feel about yourself.
7. **Develop Skills:** Identify areas in which you want to improve and work on developing those skills. Mastery in a particular area can boost self-esteem.
8. **Surround Yourself with Positivity:** Spend time with supportive and positive individuals. Their encouragement can significantly impact your self-perception.
9. **Physical Activity:** Engage in regular exercise. Physical activity is not only beneficial for your health but also releases endorphins, which can enhance your mood and confidence.
10. **Accept Imperfections:** Understand that nobody is perfect. Embrace your imperfections as part of what makes you unique.
11. **Seek Help When Needed:** If low self-esteem is affecting your life significantly, consider seeking support from a therapist or counselor. They can provide guidance and tools to help you navigate these feelings.
Remember, building confidence is a continuous journey, and progress may come in small steps. My advice is to be patient with yourself and focus on the positive changes you’re making in your life.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m licensed cosmetology instructor and stylist who has transformed my passion for hair into a powerful platform for personal growth and empowerment. With a diverse background in the beauty industry, My journey began at South Eastern Beauty College in Stockbridge, GA, where I, honed her skills and knowledge. I then went on to work at a chain of Hair Hustlers salons, where I not only showcased my talent but also discovered my true calling.
Driven by a desire to make a difference, I founded the Hair Hustlers Academy, a unique educational program that provided cosmetology-type training to individuals who couldn’t afford the hefty price tag of traditional cosmetology schools. Through this academy, I was able to empower over 400 young women under the age of 18, teaching them the art of braiding, sew-ins, and quick weaves.
My impact extends far beyond the beauty industry. I’m also the founder of Join Club Chloe, a community organization dedicated to supporting youth movements and raising funds through lively block parties. Through this organization, Me and my team have provided over 15,000 free meals to food-insecure children in Georgia, making a tangible difference in their lives.
With years of experience speaking to women in salons, I developed a unique ability to connect with individuals on a deeper level. I’ve helped countless clients navigate through family issues, relationship challenges, and childhood trauma, providing them with the guidance and support they need to overcome obstacles and thrive. – Building relationships is fundamental in cosmetology and life coaching. Empathy helps you understand clients’ concerns and feelings, fostering trust. In coaching, it’s about connecting with clients on a deeper level to provide effective guidance. For cosmetologists, creating a positive and comfortable experience is often as important as the technical skills.
1. **Life Coach:**
