Meet Polina Galkina

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Polina Galkina. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Polina, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Hey there, great question! To be honest, my resilience mostly comes from focusing on the positive stuff in life, being grateful for what I have, and taking action instead of overthinking. When things get tough, I try to change my perspective and remind myself of the good things I have going for me. By staying grateful for these blessings, I feel more resilient and ready to tackle anything that comes my way. Plus, I make sure to take action rather than just worry or overthink things, which helps me stay motivated and bounce back quickly from setbacks.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m all about nature and taking photos of its beauty! It’s my passion, and it gives me a sense of purpose to share that magic with others. I started writing blogs to inspire others to get out and explore, and I even created a mindfulness journal called Western Americana that helps people connect with nature and get inspired through journaling.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As a travel blogger and nature photographer, I think the three most important things that helped me are creativity, adaptability, and perseverance. For beginners, I suggest experimenting with new techniques to make your work unique. You also gotta be adaptable and roll with the punches when things don’t go as planned. Lastly, don’t give up! It takes time to build a following, but keep sharing your work and learning new things to improve your skills.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
Balancing our strengths with areas we can improve in. Focusing on what we’re good at is key, but developing other skills can open up new opportunities. Personally, I’m good at making visual content but writing is tough for me. But both are important for successful blogging, so I practice writing every day and read books about it. It takes effort, but it helps me make better blog posts and grow as a person.
