Meet Salathia Graham

We recently connected with Salathia Graham and have shared our conversation below.

Salathia , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience definitely comes from my Mother. Even now, at 71 years old, I have to remind her to slow down and take some time to relax. She’s always been the hardest working person I’ve ever known and the most influential person in my life. She taught me that it is absolutely okay to fail but quitting means death.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Salathia and I’m from Georgia. I am a professional makeup artist. I got into makeup as a teenager in high school and it has been a passion of mine ever since. In 2016, I started freelancing and I’ve been working to become more proficient with every client. The most exciting part of what I do is the satisfaction I receive from being able to express myself through my art. I love seeing the confidence level of my clients increase from the time I start til the time I’m done. I’m gradually moving into wardrobe styling and I’m hosting my own fashion show on March 29th, 2024.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of the most important, if not THE most important things I’ve learned is effective customer service. Make no mistake, skill set creates the opportunities but excellence by way of great customer service keeps the opportunities available. My advice to anyone who are just beginning is to keep going even if you make a mistake.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Without out a doubt, the book The Alchemist helped me tremendously because it inspired me to create even when I didn’t have the motivation. It’s a really great read!
