Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to April Collins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi April, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I supposed I get my resilience from my mom. No matter what happened in her life, she would laugh about it and made it seem less of a bother. She would just keep trucking along with a smile on her face. Others outside the family would think she was a push over. That’s one thing she was not. I strive to be like that.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is April Collins but, my professional name is Reverend Mother Manera Collins. My business is Thee Magic Mushroom Medium as a Medium and Tarot Reader. I also act in haunted attractions and work for Christmas/winter attractions for fun. I am an ordain minister with the Universal Life Church. My religion is eclectic. I study everything to find that one common truth of the universe and man. I teach how to be nice to yourself and others around you. I help with all religions and creeds. No one should be anyone’s emotional/physical scapegoat all because of their religion. What’s wrong with knowing right from wrong? Why does religion have to define that? Killing is still wrong. Lying to someone to get ahead is also wrong. All because they don’t do what you do or think like you do, it is not wrong. We may all bleed the same. The way we are raised is not. No one is better than anyone else. We are all human! And we are not for hurting. Whatever you believe in did not put you on this earth to be less than what others consider you to be. We all have the potential to create something awesome out of this life. If you have to beat your head against the wall everyday because of your situation, look back and see how YOU messed it up. It is no one else’s fault but your own on how you chose to live your life and take how it was done to you. People come to me only because they have no tools to deal with the problems they caused for themselves. When people own up to their own mistakes, it will help the recovery process to learn new tools to deal with it.
That’s why I have a medium and tarot reading business. I have been told over the years that it’s all a “bunch of hocus pocus” . But, in reality spirits and energy helps us regardless if you believe in them or not. Miracles, some call them. The chill up your back. Think of someone and something of them comes to you, song, smell or visual sometimes like a butterfly. they are all around us and want so much to let everyone know there’s nothing to fear on the other side and we are wasting our time being mean to each. So. with their guidance, with the readings I do, I help heal the pain that the living is still in over their passed on loved ones or need to seek to ask their own guides questions because they can’t/won’t hear them. Ever have your stomach hurt and you decided to stay home because of it and then find out something bad happened where you were going? That little voice in the back of your head? These are your guides talking to you. These are what I hear or feel and read in my cards or from their energy.
Sorry if I’m being long winded. But, this is my passion. I see how this world has become in my 50+ years on this world. I have been helping one person at a time just changing the way they see themselves. I do this without judgement. I’m not here to judge you. You do that enough to yourself. I open your heart and mind to be one with each other and to see things in a different light. Everyone needs that spiritual leader type to come to. And some feel they can’t go to that conventional priest or preacher of other denominations. Counseling is free like being at your church. Readings are at varied prices depending on how long you want to go.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Be humble, be kind; not just others but, to yourself, and nothing is as it seems. I have learned these over the years and live by them everyday. It has helped in my abilities to communicate with the other side. Because you have to be empty in order to be filled. If my mind and heart is cluttered with all the negative things in the world, I’ll never be able to see what they have to tell me. The best advice I could ever give anyone is to just be you. There is no one like you. Don’t be hard on yourself. Life is way too short to be so serious about things that won’t matter when you’re gone. Life is meant to be enjoyed and savored and to learn from. Not to create chaos and hurt others because you need to make others feel less than you. Or to be made out to be evil people when they are just trying to live the way they were meant to. Live your best life. Don’t worry what others think. They don’t live with you. Have fun and listen to that little voice inside you that guides to the right path. You know it, don’t be scared to walk through that door.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest growth in the past year has been to be more of a partner and wife to my husband. You know there are times in our lives that we get so busy that we forget we have family? Well, that is my biggest challenge. Making time to heal my family and myself. I am so focused on helping others see where they can help themselves, I forget my own well being. The last 12 months have been all about that. Getting to know my husband again. That is what will create more harmony within myself. And in turn, my husband is also healing from his own mental and physical problems. Helps even more when you have your partner there to help you see things in a different light. So, now we have a family Christmas vacation coming up that will help us both heal.
