We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Haldane Morris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Haldane below.

Haldane, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I just avoid the noise and keep creating the things I want to see. And of course it helps that I get hired all the time to photograph for brands 🙂

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
In my early years, I raced on the U.S. National Cycling Team grabbing a silver medal at the US Olympic Trials. After retirement, I started modeling. I had the opportunity to work with legendary fashion photographers such as Michel Haddi, Bruce Weber and Mario Testino. Working with these three fashion giants gave me a huge advantage to simply make people look and feel the best they can be in front of the camera, which is invaluable.

One of my greatest assets is my ability to connect with people, and make them laugh and feel comfortable in front of the camera. My passion for photography includes a fun and keen eye for what the client needs.

When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling with my better half, exercising, watching movies, and eating food.

My photography studios are located in Woodland Hills and Palm Springs.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Never quit. Shoot as much as you can, think yourself like an athlete. And work on the business side of it not just the art side.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Bible. Mediation’s by Marcus Aurelius.
