Meet Brianna Brown

We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brianna , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my dad he’s always been a hard worker and I am a strong believer of hard work doesn’t goes unnoticed.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Brianna Brown I started my Hair extension business in 2020.Being a single mom & wanting more for me and my kids is what made me step out on faith & start my own business.I have always been into hair and I was tired of people getting over on me selling me bad quality hair so I told myself I’d give it a shot.I am big on God & having faith so I made the purchase prayed over everything and started from there. My mission is providing Great quality hair at an affordable price while maintaining excellent customer service.I am very understanding when it come to my clients and will do anything to make sure they are satisfied and that’s what makes my clients return they love the professionalism.I started out with about 10 wigs selling them from my home and out the trunk of my car, didn’t like the idea of bringing random people to my home so I then moved into a suite where I was working solo.I knew a few stylists and decided to give working with others a shot so once I outgrew the suite because business started to progress. My biggest goal was to have a huge inventory of wigs & bundles so the ladies could have a lot to choose from and I did just that.I decided to open a salon so I could be a one stop shop for hair and beauty needs.I found me a building turned it into a shop & found 3 ladies who are excellent at doing hair.I had my first bad encounter with a guy that took $15,000 from me which he was supposed to get my shop how I wanted he failed to do so & took my money.I wanted to give up so bad because that was a big loss considering I’ve never had a sponsor or have been able to get loans do to my personal credit so all of my money is hard earned but I couldn’t let that hold me back so I just kept going. My shop still isn’t fully where I want it to be but it’s coming along and I am proud that I kept going. My ultimate goal is to become world wide, I feel like the world should know me and my business.I feel as if my business is based on honesty, discipline, and consistency.I currently just found a suite to work out of in Atlanta(Buckhead) my plan is to get my business & my stylists out there so that I can hopefully open me a salon out there as well because Atl to me is a good stepping stone for a second location and there will be more locations to come.I have a Lace Glue (Rare Hold), my own hot combs, flatirons, bonnets, melt bands as well as lashes.Im currently obtaining my cosmetology license because I’ve started installing the units as well as another source of income.I have a nonprofit mentorship program that I’ve been working on because a lot of ladies look up to me who know my story and watch me build my business from nothing. My mission statement for that is promoting positivity becoming better woman while building a sisterly bond.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Hard work-a lot of people want to be successful but don’t won’t to put in the work nothing is given in life you have to work for the life you want.

Discipline- once you become disciplined it’s makes you more accountable

Consistency-be consistent at what you do and become a better you.One thing my clients know is that I’ll always have something for them so I’m easier to remember because I am consistent with business.

My advice to early entrepreneurs is to keep going and keep God first.Every business is going to have its ups and downs that’s why you have to stay prepared for the slow peeks and just keep working towards being a better you and providing the Best product.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is one that understands. The business I am in defaults with the hair can happen but I ensure them if the issue is brought to me in a timely manner and I can fix it I don’t mind. One that I can talk to who isn’t quick to bash and run to the internet about things. One that knows I am human and we all make mistakes and will allow me to fix my mistakes taking it all in as constructive criticism so I can better my brand.
