We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chloe Weber. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chloe below.
Chloe, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My son Remy has an incredibly rare and debilitating genetic disorder called STXBP1, he is non-verbal, has cognitive disabilities, Parkinsonism like tremors, he didn’t walk until he was 6 and struggles with every task. Remy has shown up happy and ready to work for (nearly) everything I have ever asked of him to do therapeutically. Despite his challenges, he patiently pushes forward and happily dances at and small wonders of this world. If this child, with so many struggles, can give so much – I need to at least do my best to match him.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Radical Roots was born out of a need to support my son’s development while reducing his epilepsy. As a doctor of Chinese medicine I knew that the hemp products on the market were no where close to reaching the potential therapeutic value. By combining Chinese herbal formulas with complete spectrum, high quality hemp, we are able to dynamically support not only presenting ailments (pain, stress, anxiety etc) but we are able to help support the underlying patterns of disharmony that are causing the problems. That is what is most amazing about Chinese Medicine, the focus is on building health instead of responding to disease!.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Trust. I have found that it is incredibly important to trust the process and the journey. You may not know why a roadblock has come and smacked you in the face, but with the right mindset every roadblock is either a lesson or a redirection…. I’ve learned quite a lot on this journey.
2. Follow your excitement. Hemp companies are highly censored and I have never run an ad. It’s impressively challenging for a small business to survive in this market and I have spent far too much money on people and ideas that I think may move the needle just to have zero ROI. I recently started a podcast and am able to organically share content, build my audience through aligned partnerships and now I get to market in a way that feels good to me.
3. Give yourself space to fall and know that you will get back up. We are all going to make mistakes and have bad days, weeks, months. If you need to grieve, to cry or scream or kickbox (love me my Fightcamp) then do it. Honor and care for yourself and the challenges that come from this wild life, and know that even if you fall you will get back up, lift up your chin, and get your ass back to work.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
If anyone out there is interested in exploring marketing would love some help! Being a solo entrepreneur (and a solo mom) who is a better doctor than businesswoman, the learning curve on marketing on a tight budget has been brutal. My products are truly the best on the market and there is a tremendous amount of room to grow with the right team!
