Dot , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
By Being Thyself One thing I’ve learned is that being yourself gets you in so many more conversation and worthwhile relations
Someone seeing me dance like a goof is genuinely interested in that aspect of me
So same way in my music, business inquiries , romantic relations
Being me first helps cut through the fake stuff that IS NOT for me
It’s literally my cheat code to get what I want/ need out of any situation.
And I’m always the only one in the room that looks like me……..

Man my story too long for this text space lol but I’m from Houston Texas. I’ve been adept to the spirit life for some time I incorporate my ideas on life and the things I see & hear into my music. I try to provide solutions or ideas for reference In my bars and paint a picture or a statement (s) as pure as I can . I got neices and nephews listening so I try to leave some knowledge they can pick from when I’m not around to give it in the flesh. As I feel for ANY listener
I event curate I audio engineer l, creatively strategize
I just dropped the best project in my career to date in November 2023 entitled Be Thyself
I have an event for the release In Atlanta Ga in little five points at Factor’s on 12/15 “the Be Thyself Show”

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Writing in a notepad for many years Creating a true relation with your craft
Treating it like a woman. If you don’t spend time and TRULY be present she gon be mad
So keep her happy by tending to her and showing her you appreciate her
And WATCH what she do for you 😈😈😈
But you wanna develop or improve in ANYTHING get yo spirit right
Get yo relation with God right
Your DIRECT. Relation that is what will guide you to your destined or intended success
Read mf READ a book 📚
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
This is not just one person but multitude of ppl from my good friend whose a designer who listens to allll my rough drafts before I commit to add it to the vault To the producers who build TRUE. Friendships and rapport with me to make sure I learn several ways to attack a track.
To my brother who makes sure I’m lookin at life outside of this music shhhhh and creating other opportunities for myself
But most of all God cuz every downfall and every mountain top was provided by his grace and design for me to learn and understand myself
