Meet Don Loum

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Don Loum. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Don below.

Don, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
From a very young age I knew that taking risk would be a huge part of working towards my goals. I think that in the industry i’m in if you don’t take risk you don’t go anywhere. Over the time being in the entertainment industry I’ve grown to push myself in every shoot, and every scene. It’s a matter of focus, reflection, and bravery. I don’t think too much about instead I go for it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My main focus is modeling and acting. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to grow within the industry and work hard for everything that comes my way. What makes this journey so exciting is really just getting the chance to meet so many amazing people from different walks of life. I’m a huge extrovert so getting the chance to hang out and meet different people on set is such a cool thing to me. Part of my brand is standing out and being my most authentic self. Most people commment on my hair, but I believe the true uniqueness comes from my confidence. Confidence is a huge part of being succesful within my indusrty, and ill get the chance to share some insights about my experiences within the industry; and also about my life in general soon. In January of 2024 different platforms such as Youtube will give me the chance to share with you all soon.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
When it comes to working within the the entertainment industry some important key details are Grit, Consistency, and Individuality.

Grit: So many people see the work, and want to be able to do the same thing, but you have to be willing to work through the tough days. Everyday isn’t going to be perfect, and some days you will want to quit, start over, and hide. Those who have success within this industry are those that can hang on the longest and those who can say what If I just work a little bit harder than everyone else. If you put in the work your time will come.

Consistency: Whats next? Getting work done within the industry is difficult, but I cannot express how important it is to be make sure that the work your apart of is consistent. As soon as I do one shoot I’m already thinking about what’s next, and how I can improve from where I am today. Regardless of it’s an audition or a new campaign growing by just 1% everyday will allow you to flourish in the industry and in other areas of your life as well.

Individuality: Set yourself apart! Everyday tons of people reach out to me asking me how they can model, or get the chance to be on set but the real question is what are you doing to set yourself apart from everyone else who wants your spot. Everything is earned not given. Sit down and take the time to think about who you are; and what you want to bring to the table thats where the work starts. I start everyday at 5am and think about who I am and what I bring to the world.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Although I’m still growing I’ve had so many people support be in being where I am today. My family and friends have spent countless hours supporting, and encouraging me everyday. I’m specifically thankful to my manager Michael Abrams of Michale abrams Group who is not only an amazing manager, but an amazing person. I continusly recieve genuine support, advice, and encouragment from him. Bridgette O’ Donovan of Baby Bird Communications for her relentless time, effort, connections, and advice. Connecting the dots is an extremley difficult objective, but Bridgette and Baby Bird Communications have been able to help piece things togther day by day. Last, but defeintly not least Ryan Doerr of Rayan A. Doerr Photograpghy has worked with me from the very start of this never ending journey. Ryan’s phenomenal photography and vision is beyond amazing. Not only is his work beyond quality, but his work is intentional every photo tells a story of his hard word and deidcation towards his craft.
