Meet La’ Shae Alexander

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to La’ Shae Alexander. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

La’ Shae, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose by self reflecting. I sat with myself many times reflecting on the hood and the bad. Thinking about the younger me and what brought my heart joy, what I wish I had when I was younger, and what I seen others ask me for or needed in general.

This all became full circle and I knew philanthropy was for me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
At this point in my career, I am focused on the public health sector of sex education. I am currently working on a teded Series, where I will provide parents, students, educators, and guardians with resources and information to help navigate raising children in the digital age.

I will also be continuing my work with the San Francisco Department of public health and spreading the word on individuals getting tested.

I aim to bring my resources together in a hub both on my website and on school campuses so that we all have the resources we need to build a safe and thriving community that our children can lean on and grow from.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe one of my greatest qualities and skills that has served me on my journey, has been my ability to connect with people so that I can help people from all backgrounds.

Another great skill that I’ve learned would have to be my communication skills which undergrad help me develop. I’ve always known that I loved working with people, but learning the different facets of how to do so has prepared me, and my passion and career.

I would say another quality that has served me well has been my ability to just try, in other words, I guess you could say it was courage. I’ve definitely had my moments of fear, but I face them every time and I’m happy that I have because it’s giving me the opportunity to connect with amazing people, and I’ve had the opportunity to share my best self with the world and hopefully that encourages others to put themselves out there to connect with the people who need the most and who they need as well.

I would encourage people to first identify the areas that they are not good at and reach out to others around them who possess those skills. I would also advise individuals who are early in their career to take the good things about themselves, and really highlight them to the people around them so people know how special they are and what they have to offer.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am absolutely looking for people to connect with me. I just recently underwent a rebrand. I would love an assistant, as well as a larger network of public health advocates and educators, who can help me provide resources to schools, so that we can truly make the next generation of leaders great.

I would also love to start my PR campaign at the top of 2024 where I Grace the phones, televisions, and magazine, pages with more of the amazing things I plan to share and provide on my journey.

If people are interested in collaborating with me, they are more than welcome to reach out to me through my website via my inquiry form and provide as many details as possible on your project or the ways in which you can help my initiative.
